UFC Light heavyweight champion Glover Teixeira stepped inside the octagon to defend his title against Jiri Prochazka in a five-round main event bout. All eyes were on this big fight and it turned out to be just as advertised with both fighters showing incredible heart and durability.

It was a complete bloodbath as these two light heavyweights exchanged numerous brutal blows on the feet as well on the ground. There were several moments in the fight where it looked like it was about to get over, however, both fighters overcame multiple adversities in a fight that truly had no loser.

In the end, it was Jiri Prochazka who pulled off a brilliant rear-naked choke submission in the last thirty seconds of the fifth round to become the new undisputed light-heavyweight champion.

UFC 275: Glover Teixeira vs Jiri ProchazkaSpeaking about this fight, Teixeira absorbed some remarkable blows to stay in the fight. As usual, Glover was quite slick with his ground game as he landed four takedowns and dished out some brilliant shots. Consequently, Teixeira was on course to win the fight as he had him hurt in the fifth round.

But he ended up making a few mistakes while attempting a takedown and Prochazka got some breathing space and he managed to finish the fight. It is needless to say that Glover made a costly mistake because he was ahead on the official scorecards and would have won the fight if he didn’t attempt those takedowns.

Nevertheless, this was a title fight to be remembered for the ages as both light heavyweights delivered to the expectations of fans by showing their brilliant skills inside the octagon.

Glover Teixeira to continue fighting despite losing his title to Jiri Prochazka at UFC 275

There were some doubts regarding the future of 42-year-old light heavyweight fighter Glover Teixeira ahead of UFC 275. Because he had indicated in one of the interviews that he would retire this year. Consequently, after losing his title against Jiri Prochazka via submission loss, Daniel Cormier asked Teixeira about his future.

Glover responded by confirming that he is not hanging up his gloves anytime soon, and intends to compete.“Did I look 42 out there? No? Then I’m going to keep going.”

Despite losing the light heavyweight title at UFC 275, Glover put on a show for the fans present in the Singapore Indoor Stadium. Besides, it certainly looks like age is not slowing down the Brazilian light heavyweight as he was the more active fighter in the championship rounds of the fight.
