Fans across the country will have heard of Terry Crews. He is a popular Hollywood actor and is best known for his role as Seargent Terry Jeffords in the NBC sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Terry Crews is admired by many fans due to the fact that he keeps himself in peak shape and has a significant amount of muscle mass on his body.
Since the NFL is a league where his power could be put to good use, fans must certainly wonder if playing there is an explanation for his physique. However, one would presume that he couldn’t have been playing for too long considering that he has been acting for a while now. Therefore, we should take a closer look and find out the truth.
Did Terry Crews Play in NFL?
It turns out that Terry did play in the NGL. Crews was born on July 30, 1968, to Terry Crews Sr and Patricia Anne. He went through quite a tough childhood since his father was an alcoholic and would abuse him and his father. Terry wanted a better life and an art scholarship at Western Michigan University. That later turned into a football scholarship when his physical talents became evident.
As a result of his abilities, Crews was selected in the 11th round of the 1991 NFL Draft by the Los Angeles Rams. However, he was bounced across the league over the years and never really stayed with one team. Despite playing with 4 other NFL franchises, the Green Bay Packers, San Diego Chargers, Washington Redskins, and the Philadelphia Eagles, Terry ended up finishing his NFL career in 1997 after having played in only 36 games.
However, he clearly had a reason for wanting to leave behind football, which was to pursue his passion for acting. He got his first role a few years later in a movie called Battle Dome. Things slowly started gaining momentum after he landed a role in the popular show Everybody Hated Chris. It ran for 4 seasons and brought him even more recognition and attention.
Crews even starred in his own reality series, which ran for two seasons in 2011 and 2012. A year later he landed the role of Seargent Jeffords in the TV show Brooklyn 99, a series that has gone on for an impressive 8 seasons. Although Terry was unable to succeed in the NFL, there is no denying that his life has been an incredible success.
