Floyd Mayweather is the greatest boxer of this generation and the highest-paid combat sports athlete of all time. On the other hand, Logan Paul is one of the biggest names on YouTube. So it was expected that this fight would bring in some incredible numbers considering the fact that both Mayweather and Logan Paul have brought in stellar PPV numbers in their previous fights.

Surprisingly, the exhibition match between Floyd Mayweather and Logan Paul could bring good PPV numbers as per recent reports.
As per the recent reports by Wrestling Observer, Mayweather’s boxing return bring in disappointing numbers in terms of PPV sales. It also has to be considered that the PPV price for this event was $49.99, cheaper compared to Mayweather’s previous few fights.

Dave Meltzer commented on this boxing spectacle and stated:

“Yeah, the advanced pay-per-view numbers are horrible. I think that come this week we’re going to have some people really lying, you know, who knows?”

“Maybe 1 million people are going to buy the pay-per-view in the afternoon at the last minute. It’s always possible.”

It is also to be noted that the Hardrock stadium that hosts Floyd Mayweather vs Logan Paul seemed empty on the fight night, which raises concern over the revenue generated from this fight. It has been reported that Floyd Mayweather will get paid over $105 million for this fight while Logan will earn a fight purse of $20 million. The fighters will also receive a portion of PPV sales as per their contract.

Floyd Mayweather has been known as the king of PPVs as he sold 4.3 million PPVs for his fight against Conor McGregor and 4.4 million PPVs for the Manny Pacquiao fight. However, it seems he did not succeed in making the exhibition fight with Logan Paul a huge success. Nevertheless, Mayweather will get out of the boxing ring with over $100 million, proving he still rules the combat sports world.
