Iga Swiatek has been by far the best female tennis player ever since the retirement of Ash Barty after the Australian Open at the beginning of 2022.
On Saturday, Iga Swiatek made history after she won her second French Open title. Swiatek has been so dominant in the tournament that she lost only one set at the Rolland Garros.
She won the final match against USA’s Coco Gauff by a 6-1 and 6-3 at the Court Phillipe Chartier. In her bid to win the French Open she broke a lot of impossible records as well.
For instance, she equalled the record held by the Legendary Venus Williams for having 35 wins in a row.
The win streak record held by Swiatek is the biggest one in the 21st Century. Iga Swiatek has won a total of 6 titles in 2022. Iga Swiatek in the post-match conference was left speechless and stunned by the frivolous question asked by a journalist.
Iga Swiatek asked if she went to a party after applying makeup
The press conferences that the players attend can sometimes surely be insensitive. This can be substantiated by what Naomi Osaka faced in the last year’s French Open as well.
She had to withdraw from the French Open after she was forced to attend the post-match press conferences. She felt that it affected her mental health and then she rightly withdrew.

A similar incident has been encountered by Iga Swiatek in the post-match press conference after she won her second French Open title. A journalist asked her a frivolous question,
“Outside of the court, when you go to a party, do you use make-up? Do you like to go elegant and smart and so on?”
“Because many players we have seen in the past, they were staying hours in front of the mirror before going on court and using the make-up and you seem very natural like this,”
Iga Swiatek was surely left baffled by this question, however, she decided to remain calm and replied her by just saying ‘OK’ and ‘Thank You’.
She also shut down the journalist by saying that this question was not in her ‘PR Brief’.
