NBA fans are not too impressed with the response given by Klay Thompson to the taunts and criticism that he has been subjected to recently. To those who might not be informed on the issue, Thompson is the shooting guard for the Golden State Warriors and is considered by many as one of the best shooters in league history. However, he grossly underperformed this season.
Those who followed the Warriors’ season will know that they ended up getting eliminated from postseason contention by the Sacramento Kings in the play-in tournament. Moreover, Klay was unable to score a single point and went 0-10 in that elimination game.

One could actually make an argument that fans have gone over the line in this case. Despite the fact that Thompson has delivered 4 titles for the Warriors and has played brilliantly throughout the majority of his career, he has been ripped apart by fans on social media for being scoreless in an elimination game.
When Thompson posted a picture of himself on Instagram, fans instantly took the chance to taunt him by reminding him about his poor performance this season. In response, Klay attempted to take the high road and merely encouraged the fan to do his best in order to make it to the NBA.

There is nothing that Klay Thompson can do to rectify his poor shooting in an elimination game. Therefore, one could argue that the fans are to blame for this level of scrutiny. Moreover, Thompson has bigger issues to deal with before the next season begins.
