Dustin Poirier is in the best place of his life. With a win over Conor McGregor, a massive payday, and his hot sauce sales over the roof, good things surely come to those who wait. The Diamond is known to be the sweetest lightweight around and it is not often that you see him lash out. His opponent, Conor McGregor also seems to have walked away from “The Notorious” phase to much more of a calm family man.
However, things sure seem to be changing. Earlier today, Dustin responded to McGregor’s prediction for the trilogy but along with that was a heavy accusation. If you remember right, there was this big deal around the fight that Conor would donate to Dustin’s charity “The Good Fight Foundation” an amount of $500,000. Apparently, the donation never came.
“We’ve moved past it!” Dustin Poirier claims the McGregor team never responded
Dustin tweeted, “That’s a fun prediction! @TheNotoriousMMA you also predicted a donation to my foundation and you and your team stopped responding after the fight in January”. In the replies, a fan said that Dustin had received the donation, with his wife thanking Conor after the fight. The Diamond responded to the claim saying, “We thanked him because his team reached out fight week to initiate the process but ghosted us the past 2 months after the fight”. Poirier clarified that his team tried to reach out to McGregor’s team thrice after that, receiving no response.
That's a fun prediction! @TheNotoriousMMA you also predicted a donation to my foundation and you and your team stopped responding after the fight in January.
See you soon.
July 10th Paid In Full!— The Diamond (@DustinPoirier) April 11, 2021
We thanked him because his team reached out fight week to initiate the process but ghosted us the past 2 months after the fight. My foundation has reached out 3 times since with no reply. We've moved past it! We will be announcing our next goal soon! Its a big one🙏 https://t.co/mtiOFBsd2q

Promptly McGregor replied with a cryptic tweet where he said, “A donation, not a debt. We’ve been awaiting the plans for the money that never came.” Conor said that he likes to know where his money goes, “dot to dot”. He went on to subtly claim that the Foundation was a fraud since Dustin took the money fight with Conor over a title shot.
A donation, not a debt. We’ve been awaiting the plans for the money that never came. I do with all my donations. Know where it’s going dot for dot. Otherwise it goes walking. As is the case with a lot of these foundations, sadly. You took the McG over the belt shows I was right.

Poirier clarified that he knew, it was never a debt. “You offered, we accepted, and like I said your Team never responded to our emails regarding the process of where funds would be put to work!” said the former interim lightweight champ. He then warned McGregor to be ready to taste defeat again.
Retired Champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov also jumped In
Lingering around in the replies was the undisputed lightweight champion, Khabib Nurmagomedov. Khabib replied with a short 7-second Russian clip.

Roughly translated it means, “I gave you my word, right?” “Yes” “Now I take it back!”. Khabib’s response adds more depth to the situation as he himself has donated $100,000 to Dustin’s charity after the duo met to unify the Lightweight belt in Abu Dhabi. This amount was later matched by Dana white as well.
It seems like we are in for a very interesting Press Conference when these two meet in July!
