The first-person shooter game Counter Strike 2, also known as CS2, is well-liked and praised for its tactical gameplay and challenging multiplayer modes. The Field of View (FOV) setting in Counter Strike 2 has a significant impact on how you play. The FOV of a game determines the player’s perspective and field of view.
In any video game, changing your FOV is a crucial action to take, and Counter Strike 2 is no exception. The ideal FOV can make all the difference in your ability to advance in the ranks by allowing you to switch between opponents in peace.
Let me put you on my personal favorite viewmodel settings in CS2:
viewmodel_fov 68
viewmodel_offset_x 2.5
viewmodel_offset_y 2.0
viewmodel_offset_z -2.0

Your Counter Strike 2 FOV can significantly affect how effective you are in-game because it affects how much of your surroundings you can see at once. The distance you sit from your monitor should also affect your FOV because it can impair your vision. Finding the right balance requires experimentation, which is the only way to do it. We’re going to walk you through techniques for altering FOV in CS2 which is different from “CS:GO”.
How to change your FOV in Counter Strike 2?
Go to settings in Counter Strike 2 to modify your FOV. Then type “View model” into the magnifying glass next to “New” by clicking on it. This will lead you to the actual location of the setting.
There are three possibilities available in Counter Strike 2:
Desktop: Desktop furthers the range of your weapon. While being longer than the other options, your weapon will appear to be farther from the center of your screen. For CS2, this is the default.
Classic: The Classic setting will move your weapon further into the corner of your screen. You’ll have plenty of areas to keep your eyes fixed on the center of your screen because it won’t be as high up as the Desktop or Couch settings.
Couch: Couch lifts your weapon higher and moves it closer to the center of your screen. It offers you more space to see someone on the other side of your weapon even though it feels like the weapon is on your chin.

It’s easy to change the mainframe and alter your FOV. Type “viewmodel_fov 54” into the console by pressing the corresponding key on your controller. You will then have the lowest position on your screen where your rifle can rest.
