Chris Tyson, best known for being MrBeast’s sidekick has garnered a tremendous amount of heat in the last few weeks. Ever since the 26-year-old revealed about starting Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT), fans and supporters have been in splits. The controversial announcement has given rise to several rumors as well in the last while.
Chris has famously appeared in the majority of videos alongside co-host MrBeast, who goes by his real name of Jimmy Donaldson. The North Carolina native participates in many of the challenges and pranks that Jimmy comes up with, resulting in earning mega prizes. Tyson also happens to be one of the few people that are consistently active on the channel.
As per an interview with Business Insider, Chris reminisced about his early days before the fame and glory hit the duo. He said, “I remember the day he created it. Me and him were hanging out at his house, and he created the YouTube channel MrBeast6000, which is now MrBeast. I made sure I was the first person subscribed when he made it.”
Now almost a decade later, Jimmy has amassed over 148 million subscribers on YouTube, putting him in the upper echelon of the platform.
Aside from his participation, Chris also serves as the primary host of the channel ‘Beast Reacts’ (formerly BeastHacks). It is noteworthy that Chris also owns two dormant YouTube channels and only one of them features videos, which goes by the name of Tysonboy34_.
Chris Tyson has won crazy prizes by winning MrBeast challenges
There isn’t a set amount that MrBeast pays Chris for appearing in his videos. However, reports suggest that Jimmy pays the North Carolina native handsomely, based on the revenue he generates per video. Aside from that, Tyson has been more than happy to receive what Jimmy has been willing to give via his challenges. Sometimes the winner ends up with cash prizes and other times they get to rake in a brand-new fast car.
As per MrBeast Fandom, Chris has participated in a total of 30 challenges so far. The name of the challenges sounds bizarre yet the results have always proven to be hilarious. Some of the names are – I Built The World’s Largest Lego Tower, I Ate The World’s Largest Slice Of Pizza, Last To Leave VR Wins, etc.
So far, Tyson has won 6 of these challenges, while bagging amazing prizes at the end. In the ‘Lamborghini Race, Winner Keeps Lamborghini,’ lied several mini-challenges. Chris surpassed all of them, earning him a brand-new maroon-colored Lamborghini at the end. As per the ‘Last To Leave VR Wins $20,000’ challenge, the 26-year-old won $18,000 for being in VR for 18 hours straight.
In the infamous ‘I Went Back To Boy Scouts For A Day’ challenge, Tyson won the last badge with a total of 11 badges, making him ultimately the winner of this challenge, earning $20,000 for himself. In ‘Last To Leave The Tesla, Keeps It Challenge,’ Chris bagged himself a ‘model 3’ of the famous electric car.
As per reports, just through his appearances alone, Tyson has amassed over $3 million over the years. And this doesn’t include his other sources of income as a social media influencer on TikTok, Twitch, etc.
Did MrBeast fire Chris Tyson?
Ever since his HRT announcement, Tyson has garnered more heat than support it seems. Despite the huge backlash of transphobia and online trolling, Jimmy didn’t take a step back in defending his friend from the same. The 24-year-old has publicly shown support for Tyson on occasions more than once.
However, recently several rumors have started to afloat claiming to prove that Jimmy has already let go of his long-time friend. While the rumors have yet to be confirmed, a no-show from Tyson in the MrBeast crew’s latest Paris outing only thickened the plot even more.
It could either be a decision the duo has taken behind closed doors, or Chris might just be taking some time off. It is worth mentioning that Tyson did deactivate his main Twitter handle amidst all the transphobia. Thus, until either of the two comes forward with an official announcement, all that the fans do is wait.
