Season 18, “Resurrection,” introduces serious changes to fan-favorite and not-so-favorite weapons. Whether you’re a sharpshooter with the Longbow or a close-quarters beast with the Mastiff, you’ll want to pay attention to what’s coming. Respawn’s not holding back this time. They’re nerfing some OP guns ruling the roost and buffing underdogs to give them a chance.

Nemesis Balance
The Nemesis has been overpowered despite its mid-season nerf. Respawn plans to balance the gun in the Season 18 update, although the exact changes are yet to be revealed. However, Nemesis seems to be going to the replicator.
Global SMG Nerf
In Season 18, all SMGs will receive a massive falloff, meaning that SMG’s damage drops as the shooting distance increases will significantly. The R99 SMG will have a lesser magazine capacity, and its vertical recoil is also being changed, making it harder to control.
Prowler SMG Buff
The Prowler is getting a major upgrade, entering the Care Package, and receiving the ‘Select Fire’ hop-up buff. This allows players to toggle between burst and full-auto shooting modes, adding versatility and strategic depth to this weapon.
Alternator SMG Buff
The Alternator receives no major changes except that it gets the ability to use the ‘Disruptor Rounds’ hop-up. There is no confirmation whether ‘hammer point rounds’ hop-up stays for RE-45 either, but if it does, we are looking at a serious meta-shift for weapons.
Shotgun Changes
- Peacekeeper Buff: The Peacekeeper receives Disruptor Rounds, allowing the weapon to deal 30% increased damage against shields. This change is expected to make the Peacekeeper a more viable option in various combat scenarios.
- Mastiff Buff: Upgraded to a tightened spread to improve power. This buff aims to make the Mastiff a more consistent and reliable choice in close-quarters battles.
Assault Rifle Changes
- Hemlok Burst AR Buff: The Hemlok’s overall damage will be increased, and its recoil has also been reduced. These changes are designed to make the Hemlock a more competitive option among assault rifles, enhancing its appeal to players. The overall damage will be increased. Prowler will replace it in the care package and hence ground loot.
Pistols Buff
Pistols like P2020 and RE-45 may be buffed in Season 18, allowing them to be used without the hop-ups. This potential change reflects Respawn’s commitment to ensuring that all weapons have a place in the game’s meta.
Charge Rifle Rework
The Charge Rifle is undergoing a significant rework, focusing on a Concentrated Projectile rather than a laser beam. The new model will only shoot when the trigger is released, and there’ll be no hitscan. This rework aims to add a new layer of skill and strategy to the weapon, making it more challenging and rewarding to master.
Longbow Buff
Although the Longbow isn’t going through a complete rework, the DMR will receive a buff in the upcoming season. While specifics are yet to be revealed, players can anticipate a more potent and competitive Longbow, adding to the excitement of Season 18.
Apex Legends Season 18 promises to bring exciting changes to the weapon meta, with significant nerfs and buffs that will spice things up for the player base, from reworking the Charge Rifle to introducing Disruptor Rounds for the Peacekeeper. Players can look forward to a thrilling and balanced gameplay experience.
