The media franchise Titanfall mostly consists of first-person shooter games. The series was developed by Respawn Entertainment and launched on Xbox and Microsoft Windows before being made available on additional platforms and consoles. It first came out on March 11, 2014.
The latest edition in the Titanfall series was Apex Legends. Apex Legends is a free-to-play battle royale-hero shooter game, created by Respawn Entertainment and released by Electronic Arts. Several Titanfall franchise characters feature in Apex Legends as playable Legends or as minor characters as the game also shares the sci-fi setting with the Titanfall series.
The PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game were released in March 2022, March 2021 for the Nintendo Switch, and February 2019 for the PlayStation 4, Windows, and Xbox One. In May 2022, the Apex Legends Mobile edition of the game came to Android and iOS.
It had been presumed up until that time that Respawn Entertainment was working on a third sequel to the Titanfall franchise, the studio’s previous big game, so the game’s release came as a surprise.
Apex Legends patch notes tease Titanfall 3
Since its initial launch, Apex Legends has received support; however, it is not the same case for its parent series. With other initiatives Respawn was working on, such as the April release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, this attention on Titanfall was further diminished.
However things seemed to change when recently released Apex Legends patch notes surprised Respawn Entertainment fans, who are now convinced that the publisher is hinting at a new Titanfall game. Both of these series were created by Respawn, with Apex Legends being a stand-alone Titanfall spin-off.
The cryptic message that appears at the conclusion of the patch notes for Apex Legends’ Harbingers Collection Event, has led the fans to make guesses of the coming of a brand-new Titanfall game.
Apex’s latest update ends with:
“Incoming Transmission…. Subject: Nessie….
1394521200
1477638000
1549267200”
If you search for these numbers, each one depicts the release date of Titanfall 1, Titanfall 2, and Apex Legends in Unix time.

Fans of Titanfall and Apex Legends expressed their enthusiasm about what Respawn might be preparing in response to this. According to Andrew Wilson, CEO of EA, there were some indications that Respawn was working on a new project earlier this year.
Vince Zampella, CEO of Respawn Entertainment, has previously claimed that he wants to build Titanfall 3, but it would have to return at the “right time with the right idea.”
While the first Titanfall was a mixed bag, the sequel was a noticeable improvement because of its quick and exciting campaign and engaging gameplay. Titanfall 2’s release was sandwiched between Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and Battlefield 1.
As the timing of Titanfall 2’s release was not ideal it impacted the game’s sales. Since then, there hasn’t been a new Titanfall game in seven years, this eventually caused the Titanfall series to lose precedence over Respawn’s other franchises.
