American multi-billionaire and investor Elon Musk is known for having his fingers in every pie. Be it spacecraft manufacturing, automobiles, neurotechnology, and even social media. Now the business magnate is introducing game streaming on his social media platform Twitter, which he renamed to X post buying it.
X has seen multiple features being added since the rebranding, such as adding an ad revenue-sharing program, facilitating journalism on the app, and adding Community Notes on images and videos.
The platform is currently experimenting with a Twitch-like video game streaming feature. A post was shared on the platform by an account named ‘Gamer’, which is allegedly Musk’a gaming handle. The post included an hour-long gameplay episode, with the caption ‘Just a quick test of X video game streaming’.

Interestingly, Musk live-streamed himself playing Activision Blizzard’s Diablo IV dungeon late on Sunday in a test of his social network’s ability to handle game streaming.

He created a new account for the testing task. He hosted the stream on an account with the username, ‘cyb3rgam3r420.’ In the video, he is seen playing a tier 69 dungeon in Diablo IV. Notably, Musk also promoted a portion of the stream on his main account.

Musk along with X Chief Executive Officer Linda Yaccarino have sought to remodel the micro-blogging site into a bigger and broader service encompassing feature-length videos and payments alongside traditional social network features.
Musk officially announced that the game streaming feature is now live on X, however, currently, it is a bit complicated to set up. Additionally, viewers wanting to comment on streams need to have subscriptions, he mentioned. By streaming Activision Blizzard’s Diablo as a test, Musk publically pronounced of creating a game-streaming market, which is currently dominated by Amazon.com’s Twitch.
X is also allowing its paying subscribers to share in the ad revenue from their posts, this might sound enticing to some Twitch streamers. Musk is a video game lover himself, hence it is not surprising to see him looking at expanding X into the gaming industry.
