GTA 6 trailer is out and blowing everyone’s minds. The dam has been broken and fans cannot stop talking about GTA 6 on social media with YouTube even losing control of the viewer count on the video. The trailer has already garnered 50 million views and counting. Rockstar’s latest title will be released in 2025 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
Fans are taken aback by the graphics and all the new features the game brings. And with these features, Rockstar Games subtly put several hints and references in the trailer for the fans to notice and share.
Rockstar is famous for putting hints in their games and trailers and GTA 6 is no different. The trailer for the game dropped subtle hints from the release date to several references. Here are some of the easter eggs in the trailer.
Easter Eggs in the GTA 6 trailer
The easter eggs in the trailer give slight hints about the release date to references to Rockstar’s other title, Red Dead Redemption.
Dodo plane with the ‘919’ banner
In the opening moments of the trailer, when we see the beach, the camera pans over to the sky where a ‘Dodo’ plane is seen pulling a banner through the sky. The banner has text on it, saying “Why sixty nine when you can nine 1 nine?”. At present there is no confirmation about what the text means.

However, based on the numbers saying 9 1 9, fans have deduced that it might be the release date for the game, with the 9 being September and 19 being the date, making the final release date September 19, 2025. This can be true based on the fact that GTA 5 was released in September 2013.
Uncle Jack’s
In a brief moment in the trailer, we see a liquor store’s doors with the words “Uncle Jack’s” on the other side of it with a bearded face next to it. This is either a reference to Rockstar’s other title, Red Dead Redemption, which has a character named Jack Marston in it, with the face being similar to Pearson’s from Red Dead Redemption 2.
It can also be a reference to the Liquor Chain, Big Daddy’s Wines and Liquors. Rockstar might have cleverly put both references in a single one to throw off the fans.

Hammer-wielding woman
There is a scene in the trailer where we see Social Media footage of a woman wielding two hammers, threatening the cameraman. This is a direct reference to a video that went viral on social media about a woman from Los Angeles, similarly wielding two hammers, hitting cars, and swearing at the cameraman.
Bonnie and Clyde reference
At the final moments of the trailer, we see Lucia mounted on top of Jason which is followed by a scene of the pair breaking into a store with their faces covered and guns pointing in opposite directions.
So, the GTA 6 bonnie & clyde leaks were true!
I remember so many ppl got pissed the minute those rumors mentioned a playable latina female protagonist. š https://t.co/qdkEr68nOv pic.twitter.com/ZA3EvAgsNH

Fans think this is a reference to the infamous robber couple, Bonnie and Clyde, in their signature stance, however, differing to some degree.
State of Leonida
Rockstar Games has created many fictional cities based on real cities with Los Santos being Los Angeles, Liberty City being New York, and now Vice City, made after Miami. However, Miami is in the state of Florida and Rockstar seems to have changed the name of the state for the game.
Move over Florida Man! Leonida Man will be all over the headlines when GTA 6 arrives in 2025. Rockstar describes the state, which is home to Vice City, as “the biggest, most immersive evolution of the Grand Theft Auto series yet.” pic.twitter.com/3VYcdsFazq
ā IGN (@IGN) December 5, 2023
The new state is called Leonida, an obvious nod to Florida which features both Miami and the Everglades, in the forms of Vice City and an unnamed swamp area. There is also a social media video of a person grabbing their crotch to apologize for a road incident with the caption of the video “Only in Leonida is a crotch grab an apology for bad driving” which refers to the series of memes about the unorthodox state of Florida, with the disclaimer usually being “Only in Florida”.
Underwear cash
At Uncle Jack’s liquor store, there is a sign on the door that says “We will no longer accept cash stored in underwear”.
United States of Paranoia
In a still in the trailer, we see Lucia, the female protagonist, holding a pile of cash, when looking at it closely the bills have the word “Paranoia” written on them.
Florida Joker reference
There is a subtle reference to the real life incident of ‘Florida Joker’. Florida Joker was a model who dressed as Joker and was arrested for carrying a weapon. His mugshot became the subject of memes when it was released.

The GTA 6 trailer shows a similar suspect to the Florida Joker with face markings, however, with purple hair.
These are just some of the references and easter eggs in the GTA 6 trailer that seem to be breaking records with the hype not slowing down. The latest title in Rockstar’s catalog is set to be monumental based on the trailer and the millions of fans backing it up.
