One of the first tasks for players in Hogwarts Legacy is to be sorted into a house after they arrive at the renowned school of witchcraft and wizardry. There are four choices here, as franchise aficionados are already aware: Ravenclaw, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Gryffindor.
The playable characters will be sorted into houses based on a unique sorting hat that is placed on their heads. It is similar to the books and the movies. Players of Hogwarts Legacy will ultimately get to decide which house is best for them, just like Harry did all those years ago. As such, this is primarily a matter of personal preference.
Choosing a house therefore is a matter of personal choice. The best house in the game will depend on the player’s individual preferences and how they want to proceed in the game.
Which house to choose in Hogwarts Legacy?
Every House has a fundamental belief that guides it: Slytherins are renowned for their slyness, Ravenclaws for their wit, Hufflepuffs for their friendship, and Gryifindors for their bravery.
In Hogwarts Legacy, there isn’t a best house. However, there are a few key differences that players should be aware of. The characters that players meet with throughout specific parts of the main tale will primarily depend on the house they select. This is because each of the four houses is home to a distinct set of witches and wizards.
Every house has a common room, which is situated in a different area of the school. Additionally, there are a few Side Quests that are house-specific. Lastly, the player’s house will dictate the color of their robes and necktie with each house having two unique colors.
The house a player chooses will, for the most part, not significantly affect their experience with Hogwarts Legacy. But depending on which house they have selected, players will be assigned a different task at a certain point in the story. This will be right after they’ve learned everything there is to know about the Merlin Trials.
Only Hufflepuffs can visit Azkaban in Hogwarts Legacy and not anybody else can. Therefore, they get the best side quest here. Azkaban has a significant importance in the movie and the book as well.
In the end, a player’s House is something they want to identify with in the game and something personal to them. Houses have little bearing on the main plot aside from variations in the common areas, special missions, and companions.
Hogwarts Legacy has mostly received positive reviews despite the controversy the game had landed into. There are also rumors of a sequel, after the initial success of the game. Hogwarts Legacy is also now available for players on the Nintendo Switch.
