After a long wait and anticipation, Mortal Kombat 1 finally released on Nintendo Switch and it’s been in the news for all the reasons the publisher Warner Bros couldn’t have imagined. It is entertaining players for sure, but not for its interactive gameplay or exceptional features. It is entertaining by giving the players a good laugh.
An early access of Mortal Kombat 1 was released for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S on September 14, 2023, for players who had ordered the game’s Kollector’s Edition and Premium Edition. On the other hand, the Standard Edition will be accessible for all the players on September 19, 2023.
Fans seemed to be more than disappointed with the game’s Nintendo Switch version and thus started expressing their frustration and disappointment on the internet. Meanwhile, others shared the visuals of the game on Nintendo giving rise to a meme fest.
Although the Mortal Kombat 1 game has been highly praised for its graphical fidelity, looks like things have gone down south in the case of the Nintendo version.
Players are dissatisfied with Nintendo Switch’s Mortal Kombat 1
Several users flooded X (formerly Twitter) and other public forums to criticize the game’s graphics as well as Nintendo for such a poor delivery. A lot of users also compared the graphics of the two by sharing pictures of the two versions of the game. One such post was made by a Twitter user named, Synth Potato.
The user even shared screenshots that show a clear difference between the game’s graphics on PS5 and Nintendo Switch. The PS5 images have high-fidelity modern graphics, while the Switch lacks even the proper facial animations. The user further went on to say that the Switch version was a “robbery,” and that it shouldn’t cost as much as the beautiful PlayStation 5 release.

Another user called out the graphics saying it looks like trash. At the same time, there were a bunch of players who questioned what else was expected from Nintendo.

There was also a section of fans who came out in defense of Nintendo claiming that it’s still impressive that the Nintendo Switch can pull off such an enormous title. The claims were basically considering the fact that Nintendo Switch features internal parts that are far worse and outdated than even PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and in spite of that has supported massive releases like The Witcher 3 and now Mortal Kombat 1.
Although the game has been receiving a lot of backlash for its Nintendo graphics, the overall reviews of the game indicate that it is a masterpiece and one of the best games to release this year.
