Sony has recently unveiled a ton of fresh information regarding its upcoming baseball game. The next game will be called MLB The Show 24 and will be released on March 19. Sony has also opened the pre-orders for the game. However, the game will not be made available on PC.
San Diego Studio, which is owned by the PlayStation Studios development team, is behind MLB The Show. The game is based on the popular Major League Baseball. Since 2014, it has been the only MLB baseball simulation video game, winning praise from both critics and fans.
MLB The Show was a PlayStation exclusive for quite some years after its launch. However, now the game is expanding to other platforms as well. The game was made available on the Xbox after fifteen years with the launch of Season 21. Furthermore, the upcoming season marks the entry of the game on Nintendo as well.
MLB The Show 24 editions and price
The game will also be made available on the previous generation consoles along with the latest generation consoles. However, the price of the game on both generation consoles will be different.
The Standard Edition
This edition will include the base game plus a few extras to improve the players’ gameplay experience. The Standard Edition will be made available on the Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. This edition will be priced at $69.99 / £59.99 on current-generation systems and $59.99 / £49.99 on last-generation systems.
The Collector’s Edition
The developers will follow its tradition and also launch a ‘Collector’s Edition’ of the game. This will be the ultimate edition for the most ardent baseball fans. However, the price or the exclusive contents of this edition have not been made public yet by Sony. Therefore, fans need to wait a bit more to get the complete picture.
The only piece of confirmed news about this edition is that it will come with dual entitlement. This will allow fans to play the classic game types on both current-generation and previous-generation consoles.
MLB The Show 24 pre-order bonuses
Recently, Sony has come out to reveal the pre-order bonuses for the game. The PlayStation blog post states that every player who pre-orders MLB The Show 24’s Standard version will receive a Gold Choice Pack, which will let them select between a Player and an Equipment item.
The Standard Edition of the game will have the following:
- The base game.
- It will have five The Show packs (Four players and one assorted item in each pack).
- It will also include 5,000 Stubs (Only applies to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S).
Additionally, Vladimir Guerrero Jr. will join the list of former cover athletes for MLB The Show 24 and will debut on launch.
