The iconic franchise’s evolution, Mortal Kombat 1 2023, carries on its heritage of terrible deaths and gory fights. It was created by NetherRealm Studios, and its modern visuals and gameplay mechanics reinvent the fighting genre. Fans’ favorite combatants are available for selection, each with their own special skills and fatality.

Fast-paced combat, combos, and special attacks are still a staple of the gameplay, but it now adds new elements like improved character customization and environmental interactions. Online multiplayer modes enable intense clashes across the globe, and the breathtaking visuals and engrossing sound design create a dramatic experience.
Mortal Kombat 1 release date, price and availability
Mortal Kombat 1 is scheduled to release on September 19, 2023, four years after the conclusion of the last installment. However, individuals who buy the game’s Premium or Kollector’s Edition will also get access to early access. At 10:00 a.m. Pacific Time on September 14, this early access will start.
This fighter will debut on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and, most unexpectedly, Nintendo Switch instead of last-generation consoles. Nothing at the time of writing suggests that it will be included in Xbox Game Pass. Officially, there are no plans to release the game for Xbox One or PlayStation 4. Nevertheless, the Nintendo Switch version might be ported to either system.
The game will be available in multiple editions namely, the Standard Edition, the Premium Edition, and the Kollector’s Edition which are priced as follows:
- Standard Edition- $69.99
- Premium Edition- $109.99
- Kollector’s Edition- $249.99
The players can choose their favorite edition and get their games.
Will Mortal Kombat 1 have crossplay?
Crossplay in Mortal Kombat 1 has been confirmed by the game’s creator NetherRealm, although they also said it will be available later. Crossplay between PlayStation and Xbox users was made possible in Mortal Kombat 11, so it’s not surprising that this game will do the same.
Launch is just around the corner and we can’t wait for everyone to sink their teeth into #MK1. Regarding Kross-Play, it will not be available at launch, but know we are hard at work at implementing the feature into the game and it will be koming post launch. pic.twitter.com/M8Kvi4QkMe

However, crossplay wasn’t available to PC and Nintendo Switch users the first time around, so we’ll have to wait to see if Mortal Kombat 1 crossplay extends outside of PlayStation and Xbox.In its predecessor, users on Xbox One or PlayStation 4 may compete against those with Xbox Series X/S or PlayStation 5.
However, because a last-gen version is not currently anticipated, this won’t be accessible in the game at launch. Mortal Kombat 1 cross-progression has not yet been announced, so it is unknown if players will be able to transfer their unlocks between platforms. Having said that, it does seem improbable.
