- GTA 6 is the talk of the town ever since it was announced, with the trailer increasing the hype.
- PS5 is bound to get its Pro variant soon.
Rockstar Games’ GTA 6, has been on top of everyone’s mind and wishlist ever since its initial announcement back in 2022. As the game preps for its 2025 release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series S and X, the expectations and desires of the players from the game are as high as they can get.
And since the game is expected to be one of the greatest games on release, it’s natural for players to have their hopes set high. Besides the anticipation of the game is evident from the records the GTA 6 trailer broke on release despite the leak.
In other news, Sony is also reportedly gearing up to introduce the PlayStation 5 Pro in the second half of 2024. The brand-new console is said to be a much more powerful variant of the standard PlayStation 5. With that, fans already have speculations about GTA 6’s performance on the upcoming console.
GTA 6 performance on PlayStation 5 Pro
Many fans think that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be locked at 30 FPS on consoles. This is mainly due to hardware limitations. That being said, if the game is made accessible on a more powerful console like PS5 Pro, it could be locked at a higher framerate.
It is rumored that the PlayStation 5 Pro will have interesting AI upscaling technology, which is capable of beating rival NVIDIA’s DLSS. Reportedly, the upcoming console will allow 1440p 120FPS and 4K 60FPS gameplay, thanks to the help of upgraded hardware and AI upscaling technology.
If the reports are to be believed, the PS5 Pro could boast a massive upgrade over the original PlayStation 5 console. Currently, PlayStation 5 is capable of supporting up to 4K at 60 FPS on several titles, however, not all of them.
Moore’s Law Is Dead and Michael shared a video on YouTube evaluating the topic, wherein they mention that the new console could be able to run GTA 6 at 40 FPS. They think that Sony will heavily rely on ray tracing and AI upscale. This could dramatically improve the framerates.
PlayStation 5 Pro features
Other insiders like ‘Zuby_Tech’ have earlier reported that PS5 Pro will have a more powerful system. This will include an eight-core Zen 4 CPU clocked at 4.2 GHz, and an RDNA 3 GPU clocked at 2.5 GHz. Besides, it will have a 20 GB of 18,000 MT/s GDDR6 memory supported by a bandwidth of 780 GB/s.

Thus, if rumors are true and GTA 6 is really locked to 30 FPS at launch on PlayStation 5 Pro, the players can safely at least expect a higher framerate on the upgraded PlayStation variant.
The rumored AI upscaling technology could enable Rockstar Games to achieve this out-of-the-box frame rate. If it happens it will undoubtedly be a significant advantage for both Rockstar Games and Sony, since GTA 6 fans are already waiting to buy the PS5 Pro for its improved performance.
