Sony opened the pre-orders for the PlayStation Portal in the United States and other countries recently. The pre-orders are open via PS Direct. Remember that the pre-orders have limited quantities so make sure you order yours at the earliest.
The PlayStation Portal is not like any other handheld device. The device will bring the immersive PS5 experience into a small handheld device. PlayStation Portal comes with a vibrant 8-inch LCD screen with 1080p resolution at 60fps for an HD visual experience. The entire remote consists of the DualSense wireless controller, adaptive triggers, and haptic feedback.
The only problem with the remote though is that it may not support Bluetooth connectivity for headphones. However, Sony has addressed this issue with their proprietary PlayStation Link wireless technology. This technology will be compatible with Sony’s upcoming Pulse Explore earbuds and Pulse Elite headset.
Users who are comfortable with wired audio, have no reason to worry since PlayStation Portal has a 3.5mm headphone jack built in.
How much does the PlayStation Portal cost?
As soon as the name of the device was revealed earlier this month, the rumor mill began spinning fast about the price of the PlayStation Portal. With the latest announcement of Portal’s release date, Sony has put an end to all the speculation and rumors by revealing the price.
Sony announced that PlayStation Portal will be priced at $199.99. The official announcement confirmed all the rumors which suspected the same price. The device will surely take the PS5 gaming experience to new heights. It allows players to stream their favorite PS5 games over Wi-Fi.
Looking at the hype and excitement of fans, it is safe to say that PlayStation Portal has the potential to sell out within minutes. So players wishing to get their hands on this marvelous device before others can pre-order the device as soon as possible.
How to pre-order PlayStation portal
As of now the PlayStation Portal is only available for pre-orders through Sony’s official PlayStation Direct storefront. However, the pre-order rights will be given to retailers too starting September 29th. Thus from the given date, fans can reserve their Portal from retailers too.
But there’s a catch. To ensure that the maximum number of gamers get to own and enjoy the new device. Sony has put the ‘One device per gamer’ policy during pre-orders into place. This is due to the incredible demand that the company is expecting.
Sony has seen what happened during the initial launch of PS5, wherein the consoles went out of stock within minutes of launch. Sony had to restock the devices only to observe the same pattern again and again. The company doesn’t want to face the same issue again and thus has decided to limit the pre-order quantities to one device per customer.
