Fans have finally got the much-awaited 60 FPS performance mode in Redfall a six-month long wait. One of Redfall’s second biggest updates has arrived, bringing along the 60 FPS performance mode for Xbox Series X/S. Developer Arkane Studios had promised this update right from the beginning.
Bethesda states that the new update brings in “Performance Mode to Xbox Series X|S, stealth takedowns, new controller settings, Accessibility improvements, and much more. Explore an even more dangerous Redfall with an increased open world enemy population and new encounters.”
This new update comes along with numerous performance fixes, UI improvisations, and accessibility fixes, making some reasonably significant changes to the gameplay, combat, the game’s environment as well and the multiplayer mode.
Initially, when the game launched, players were rather surprised to see that the studio behind a game like Dishonored, had not added stealth takedowns to the game. However, the developer has made up for it by adding the feature in the latest update. The developer has also compensated by increasing enemy density, new opponent encounters in Redfall Commons, visually unique player indicators, and markers for Multiplayer games among other interesting additions.
Will Redfall 60 FPS update help Arkane’s sinking ship?
The earlier release of the game was so disappointing, that the game had only a handful of players playing the game. Amidst the criticism and being harshly received, the developers released a loaded update. It’s still too early to say if this groundbreaking update will be enough to make up for the damage yet or not.
While the fans wished to see a lot of these features earlier when Redfall initially launched. However, better late than never, it is refreshing to see developers at Arkane Austin and Roundhouse Studios haven’t given up on the game, and at least delivered what they promised in terms of performance options and are attempting to bounce.
Game Update 2 is available now and brings Performance Mode to the Xbox Series X|S, improved PC performance, Stealth Takedowns, a bevy of new controller settings, more open world encounters, and a lot more changes to Redfall.

Although a lot of players had given up on the game, some loyal fans of previous titles like Dishonored and Prey from Arkane were seen as disappointed.
It is definitely a loaded patch for sure, but the harsh reality is that there are only a few people left to notice the updates, and they too care very little. Several reports suggest that the number of players playing the game on Steam has fallen to single numbers, even as low as four. That being said, Redfall is available on multiple platforms, thus only Steam reports don’t reveal the entire story
