It’s been over two years since Rockstar Game launched the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. Since then there have been a few fixes that the pack needed. The developers released its last update patch 1.04.5 back in October 2022. Post that it seems like the Trilogy has been abandoned. However, a recent leak suggests that Rockstar could be working on fixes to the bundle.
The GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition is a package that includes three of the franchise’s biggest titles, namely, GTA 3, GTA Vice City, and GTA San Andreas. Recently, Rockstar was even offering the GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition free to play on Netflix. This even brought the games to the mobile devices of players.
GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition update on the way?
A recent leak suggests that Rockstar Games is reportedly working on bug fixes for GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition. The leak was shared by a user named ‘Ben’ on their X (formerly Twitter) account. The user shared a screenshot of a history of changes in the package.
This is actual real activity, not anything to do with RGL or changing encryption keys on Steam.

“Rockstar appear to be developing a new patch for Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, according to recent activity on SteamDB – likely the new fixes and improvements from the mobile port,” they wrote. In the comments section, the user further added, “This is actual real activity, not anything to do with RGL or changing encryption keys on Steam.”
If the leaks and rumors are to be believed, fans could soon receive a new update fixing some major issues present in GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition.
What changes can players expect?
An earlier report suggested that there are still some glitches and bugs that still exist in all three titles, namely, Grand Theft Auto 3, Grand Theft Auto Vice City, and Grand Theft Auto San Andreas of the GTA Trilogy bundle. The reports suggest these issues in the trilogy’s definitive edition:
- Claude can run faster than usual in GTA 3 if players switch guns while jogging.
- CJ can still be seen putting drinks on his head instead of his mouth in GTA San Andreas.
- CJ still looks like a turtle when crouching in GTA San Andreas, and he still tends to float in the sky while swimming.
- The sound of chainsaws is still terrible in GTA Vice City.
- The infamous broken boat glitch still persists in GTA Vice City.
These issues along with others can be expected to be fixed in GTA Trilogy Definitive Edition’s update if at all it releases.
