Developed by the Canadian studio Behavior Interactive, Dead by Daylight is an online survival horror game with asymmetric multiplayer. The game pits one player against four other players, each of whom is a Survivor. The Survivors must cooperate to fix five generators to power up the exit gates and avoid being caught, while the Killer must impale each Survivor on sacrificial hooks in order to appease the Entity.
The game was launched on Windows in 2016; Android, iOS, PlayStation 5, Stadia, and Xbox Series X/S in 2020; PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in 2017; and Switch in 2020. In 2023, it was upgraded to Steam Deck Verified. The thirteenth Chapter DLC for Dead by Daylight, titled Stranger Things, was made available on September 17, 2019.
The official departure of Stranger Things from Dead by Daylight took place in 2021. Although the three characters were retained by the buyers, the contentious Hawkins National Laboratory area was deleted and is no longer playable. Many fans have since requested Netflix to bring back the sci-fi horror series with the original title.
Stranger Things returns to Dead by Daylight
To the joy of fans who have been clamoring for its return, Stranger Things is returning to Dead by Daylight. This announcement comes following Stranger Things Day, which also saw Stranger Things team up with Fortnite.
Many fans have previously conjectured that a number of Dead by Daylight assets will return. This is when well-known leaker Dvveet posted a screenshot showing remnants of the Hawkins map buried and disabled in the code. This increased fans of Stranger Things and Daylight’s conversation until its official unveiling.
According to Behaviour Interactive’s official statement, Hawkins National Laboratory, Steve Harrington, Nancy Wheeler, and The Demogorgon will all be making a comeback in the asymmetrical horror game. It will also have the aforementioned characters’ individual skins and attire. It will also include the Demogorgon as a killer in the game.
This would also mean that Jonathan Byers, the alternate model, will make a comeback as Steve Harrington’s legendary outfit. For the time being, all three characters’ old perk names and icons will return to their previous state. However, they will still be considered general perks.
When buying the Stranger Things content this time around, many fans can anticipate certain differences. This is due to the game’s progression over the franchise’s two-year hiatus. While there was no new material revealed during the event, fans are still holding out hope for the release of a second chapter soon.
