The upcoming fighting game Tekken 8 is being developed by Arika and Bandai Namco Studios in collaboration with Bandai Namco Entertainment. In the Tekken series, it is the tenth overall and eighth major installment.
The fight in Tekken 8 is similar to the last fight between Kazuya and his father Heihachi. The game takes place six months after the events of Tekken 7. Jin now desires to eliminate his father as he never stops wreaking havoc on the globe.
Tekken 8 is Bandai Namco‘s first significant AAA title designed only for current-generation consoles and PC technology, renouncing a cross-generational release. It is among the most aesthetically spectacular fighting games given that it was created with Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 5.1. It will also come with a more enhanced Story Mode than its previous titles in the series.

Tekken 8 crossplay
Crossplay is essential to the success of any contemporary fighting game, and Tekken 8 is confirmed to come with it. Although, Bandai Namco has not made any formal discussion about crossplay available. However, Director Katsuhiro Harada discussed the possibility of crossplay on X earlier this year.
Harada spoke with a fan about crossplay back in April. In response to a query in X, regarding the inclusion of crossplay in Tekken 8, Harada stated, “Crossplay? Of course, I will.”
Crossplay? Of course I will.
BTW
When the previous generation consoles were released, I had already proposed crossplay between the two platformers. However, at that time, they were at odds with each other over their mutual interests (and P2P security issue) & repeatedly refused. https://t.co/I8b38YfePh— Katsuhiro Harada (@Harada_TEKKEN) April 9, 2023
For aficionados of the classic fighting game, this is fantastic news. Many people were curious to know if cross-play would be included this time around because it wasn’t present in previous Tekken games.
On X, Harada said that he had requested cross-platform play for prior games on consoles but had been “repeatedly refused.” Although he did not identify the two platforms, it was obviously a dig at Microsoft and Sony, who were at odds because of the rivalry between the Xbox and PlayStation.
