Rockstar Games announced that Grand Theft Auto 6 is in the works last February. It has now been over a year since that and still no official news about the game. However, speculations have reached a different level. Through the earnings report of Take-Two Publishers, it was inferred that GTA 6 is expected to come out in the financial year 2024-25. There is a marked spike in their expected revenue that can be explained very well through the release of GTA 6.

What has now caught the eye of the public is a Twitter post, making an absurd claim. The post says that “Grand Theft Auto 6 will cost around $500 reports say.”
No sources have been cited for the said report. However, on further examination, it is seen that the Twitter post was made by an account that posts false news. The account is well known for posting parody news that has no connection to reality. Therefore, fans can relax as the game will not cost that much.
GTA 6 budget and expected cost
The latest GTA game is expected to be the costliest game ever created. Its budget is expected to cross $1 billion. In a report by Dexerto, it was mentioned that the GTA 6 budget is said to be around $1-2 billion. GTA V, on the other hand, cost a little over $200 million to make.

Naturally, the price for the latest version is expected to be higher than that of GTA V. Different editions of the GTA 6 game are expected to release including the base version, premium version, ultimate version, and collector’s cache. Each is costlier than the previous one. The expected price according to reports for the base version of GTA 6 is $70. It is a $10 increase from the price of GTA V in 2013.
