Electronic Arts are one of the largest video game companies in the world. The California-based organization was founded in 1982, by Trip Hawkins, and they have never looked back ever since. EA Sports are behind some of the world’s best-selling video games, even in the modern era. They have always found a way to keep up with the dynamic trends, and have cemented their status in the gaming world.
When EA is mentioned, their soccer-themed video game; FIFA, will be in the conversation as well. FIFA and EA were in partnership for almost 30 years, and it was quite a successful one too. However, this year, it came to a sad end, leaving EA to develop its own game. The name left fans scratching their heads, as many wondered why it was being rebranded.
The reason for that is FIFA and EA could not agree on a new deal. This meant that EA’s FIFA licensing expired, and FIFA 23 will be the last time we witness them. Although this seemed like a bad move to some at first, EA has done fairly well to produce a convincing game, or that’s what it looks like right now.

EA recently released an announcement trailer, where the cover stars and a sneak peek into the game were given. In the game, EA surprisingly did not emphasize one player but gave equal importance to the top stars. This has surely been the first, as well as the cover athletes. For the first time, EA has included multiple cover stars, which even led some to miss Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
What are the differences between EA Sports FC 24’s Standard and Ultimate Editions?
The American-based company has announced that two editions will be sold to players. They will be known as ‘Standard’ and ‘Ultimate’ Editions. We have witnessed something called ‘Champions Edition’ in the past, from which players received extra Ultimate Team perks, FIFA Points, soundtracks, kits, and many more. However, this year, EA has decided that there will only be two editions available.
For those who don’t know, the Standard Edition will be the cheaper one out of the two. It could cost anywhere in the range of around $79, for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. As for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles, it could be $69. These figures have not been officially confirmed, but judged based on the prices of the game in the last few years.
As for the Ultimate Edition, this is the one for all those who are diehard fans of the game and have been playing it for years. The Standard Edition does not offer the perks that come with the Ultimate Edition. Once a player orders the Ultimate Edition, they are expected to receive an Ultimate Team Hero card, points, and dual entitlement.
For those who don’t know, EA allows users to upgrade from their older consoles to the next generation ones. For example, a gamer will be allowed to upgrade their EA FC 24 Ultimate Edition for PS4, to PS5, without spending a penny. This was a system that EA implemented in FIFA 23, and there is a chance that it will be the case again.
The Ultimate Edition could cost around $109 for the next-gen consoles, as well as older models. For PC users, it might be an estimated $99. As for pre-orders, sources claim that gamers can order EA FC 24 from July 13. This will also provide them with 7 days of early access, as well as more than 4,000 EA Sports FC Points.
Moreover, Ultimate Edition buyers could access the game from September 23, but those who purchase the Standard Edition will have to wait until September 29. With that said, gamers have been eagerly waiting for EA FC, and it sure seems like the game could be a fresh breath of air this year. It would be interesting to see how the response is, and whether there are any major developments to the game, like fans have been demanding for years.
