Laver Cup is one of the most exciting tournaments that tennis fans look forward to every year. The tournament consists of two teams- Team Europe and Team World. Team Europe consists of top male players from Europe while Team World has players from the rest of the world.
In the past, the tournament has seen some legendary partnerships. Swiss legend Roger Federer has teamed up with Spaniard Rafael Nadal and Serbian Novak Djokovic on separate occasions. Team Europe has won all the editions of the tournament till now.
Moreover, Team Europe and Team World are led by Björn Borg and John McEnroe respectively. Borg and McEnroe shared one of the most iconic rivalries during the late 70s and early 80s. Their rivalry is renewed every year at the Laver Cup.
For all the Federer fans, the Swiss star will make a comeback after a really long gap for the Laver Cup this year. The exciting part is that his eternal rival and friend Nadal will also be on his team. The rest of the participants for the tournament are yet to be confirmed.
Andy Murray all set to make his debut at the Laver Cup this year
This year is probably going to be one of the best Laver Cups in terms of star power. Three-time grand slam winner Andy Murray will be joining Team Europe this year for the tournament. It means he will in the same team as Federer and Nadal.
Reacting to it, Murray said, “I love playing as part of a team and there is a great atmosphere and intensity to the event. I’ve heard lots of good things and I’m excited to be teaming up with both Roger and Rafa for Team Europe.”

Roger Federer also retweeted the post from Laver Cup announcing the participation of Murray. Moreover, he wrote, “Europe Avengers assemble,” in the retweeted post. If Djokovic also takes part in the tournament, it would mark the reunion of the legendary Big Four.
Nadal and Murray are currently playing the Wimbledon. On the other hand, Federer is busy recovering from the injury. If he finds his touch at the Laver Cup, he might even play the US Open this year.
