Erik ten Hag’s future with Manchester United has been in question in the last few weeks. The club’s performance has undoubtedly been subpar, and they don’t look like the English powerhouse that they once were. Since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement, the Red Devils have fallen off from their peak quite drastically.
They have won several trophies, including the UEFA Europa League, FA Cup, and the Carabao Cup since then, but that will not be enough for a club like United, especially considering the amount of money they have spent on transfers. Ten Hag has reportedly spent more than $400 million at the club, but the accolades do not justify the huge amount. Along with this, the recent performances, have placed his role as manager in doubt.

As per Football Insider, United is aiming to sack Ten Hag at the end of the season. It is said that even if he manages to beat Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City, that wouldn’t be enough to convince Jim Ratcliffe and Co.
Manchester United have also been linked with Thomas Tuchel and Gareth Southgate
While some fans rejoice at the idea of Ten Hag‘s sacking, some have backed him as well. An opinion among the United fanbase is that the team’s injury-plagued season should be taken into account when assessing the manager’s performance in the last few months. That is true to an extent, as United haven’t had the luck to field a consistent back four. Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof, and Johnny Evans have all struggled to stay fit.
Regardless, it looks like the United board may be looking at other options after running out of patience after two seasons. This has been the case with other club leaders as well. They have also hired Omar Berrada and Jason Wilcox in what looks like to be a complete overhaul of the club.

As per recent reports, Gareth Southgate and Thomas Tuchel have also been linked with the club. Both of these managers are successful managers, but Tuchel has proven experience in club soccer. He has won the Champions League with Chelsea in the past, whereas Southgate has only been successful with the England national team. That may be a determining factor for United if they were to actually look for replacements.
United fans turn on Erik ten Hag after Crystal Palace humiliation
United are coming off a 4-0 loss against Crystal Palace. Nothing should be taken away from The Eagles, they have been in quite the form since Oliver Glasner took over the team. They have been playing free-flowing soccer and that has been one thing missing from the United team.
“He should’ve never come in the first place” 😨

The Red Devils were completely dominated at Selhurst Park. They only had two shots on target during the entire game, and the performance has left the soccer world in meltdown. Moreover, the club’s fans have also called for Ten Hag’s sacking, which makes matters worse. The Dutchman will need the support of the fanbase if he aims to stay with the team for one more season.
