One of the narratives coming out of Stipe Miocic vs Francis Ngannou’s rematch was the weight of Miocic on the fight night. Stipe Miocic showed up at 230 lbs while Francis Ngannou was well above 260 lbs on the fight night.
The outcome did not go in the favor of Stipe Miocic, Francis Ngannou easily stopped the only takedown attempt from Miocic. Credit has to be given to Miocic for being tough enough to eat Francis Ngannou’s clean shots and still survive to see the second round. But, In the end, Ngannou’s power was too much as he knocked out Miocic in a vicious fashion in round number 2.
Now if Stipe Miocic comes back and fights Francis Ngannou in a trilogy how can he avenge his loss? Can he take down Francis Ngannou in the trilogy? Can he come up with a better striking plan to neutralize Ngannou’s power? Well, the former heavyweight champion has made the first step towards his return by putting on some extra weight.

Stipe Miocic makings huge changes after the loss to Francis Ngannou
In a recent post, Stipe Miocic said that he is bulking up to 250lbs for his return to the octagon. Now it’s not certain when Miocic is going to set foot in the octagon but he is likely to take a long time off after the loss to Ngannou at UFC 260. Miocic tweeted:
Stipe at 250 you say??? Funny you should mention…It’s bulking season son! Woke up feeling like I’m about to become everyone’s worst nightmare!
Miocic bulking up to 250 lbs will certainly help him in a trilogy against Francis Ngannou. Ngannou has huge power and weight advantage over most of the heavyweights and it plays a significant factor in the outcomes of his fight. But, if Stipe Miocic can become heavy and not lose the quickness and cardio he is known for then he will be a completely different animal.

With that being said, a fight against Ngannou still won’t be easy for him. But, he needs to put on some serious muscle mass and increase his strength if he aims to put on a better performance and possibly win back his title from Ngannou.
