The F1 23 game will be launched soon now that the 2023 F1 season is underway. What are the changes to the ratings that the 2023 game makes as compared to the previous title?
The F1 game is an officially licensed Formula 1 game, developed by EA Sports. EA Sports bought out the original creators of the game, which was Codemasters, in early 2021. EA Sports have a long-standing respect when it comes to gaming. A lot of popular game franchises were brought in by EA Sports like FIFA, Madden, Battlefield, and Need For Speed.

The name Codemasters still exists, but it comes under EA Sports. The F1 22 game was the first game that was completely developed under EA Sports. There were a few changes that did not stick well with certain gamers, like the removal of Jeff, the infamous F1 engineer in all the F1 games prior to F1 22.
There were some additions to the F1 22 game that went rather well, like the addition of supercars in the game, VR mode which gave a unique experience for gamers, online career mode, etc. It will be exciting to see what other features could be added to the F1 23 game.
Were the driver ratings fair in F1 22?
There were some drivers who thought they deserved a better rating. When it comes to the overall rating, people felt that Gasly and Ricciardo were given an unfair rating based on what they have accomplished. We also saw a low overall rating for Guanyu Zhou. Although he was a rookie, he performed well during the season and also performed well in his career in Formula 2.
When it came to experience, we saw Bottas have an experience rating of 77. Which was low considering his age and the total amount of years he has been in Formula One and the teams he has raced with. The game just counts the years in the sport, instead of the exposure of the driver.
The season has ended, the dust has settled, and for one last time, we’ve crunched the numbers to finalise the #F122game Driver Ratings 📊
The Top 4: @Max33Verstappen, @Charles_Leclerc, @SChecoPerez, @GeorgeRussell63

Esteban Ocon got a racecraft rating of 90 while his teammate got 88 under the same category. Esteban Ocon himself could not believe it and said Alonso deserved to be rated higher than him in the category. Racecraft is the driver’s ability to overtake and defend. With the amount of experience, Alonso has and the types of overtakes he has pulled off, there was no doubt that he deserved to be ranked higher than his teammate in this category.
Some drivers felt that Hamilton should have been ranked higher than Max Verstappen. Although the 2 drivers were neck and neck at the championship during the 2021 season, fans thought Hamilton would have the edge considering his experience compared to Verstappen.
Some fans thought Max should have been ranked higher as he was able to beat Hamilton, who had the superior car. As usual, this started a huge debate on who is better. But we won’t get into that. The drivers did do a reaction video as the ratings were released to the public.
What ratings could the driver get for the F1 23 game?
We are going to assume that the ratings for the driver for this game will be based on the previous year’s performance and not the current year.
Max Verstappen could get a higher rating than Hamilton this season. Although Hamilton will rank higher in the experience category, Verstappen showed some real pace last season and proved that he was unbeatable in that Red Bull. He also seems to be showing the same this season as well.
Carlos Sainz could be ranked higher than Leclerc. Leclerc had more battles for the lead with Verstappen, but we saw Sainz be a lot more consistent during the second half of the season. He did have his struggles during the first half, trying to get used to the car, But once he did, even Leclerc had a hard time keeping up with him.
Perez could have a slightly better rating than Valtteri Bottas. Perez could get an 89 to 90, with Bottas down at 88, which was the same as last year. We could also see Lando Norris and George Russell there in 90 or 91.
Fernando Alonso, who was 89 last year, is most likely to remain the same or even lose a point or two in the overall rankings. The rest of the grid ranking could look like this: Gasly, Albon, Ocon, Hulkenberg, Magnussen, Stroll, Zhou, Tsunoda, de Vries, Piastri, and Sargeant.
As per the above rankings, Hulkenberg is predicted to rank better than Magnussen and Stroll. this is because Hulkenberg has a better track record than both drivers. Albon has been ranked 11th as he impressed a lot of people with his performance last season.
When is it coming out and where to play?
The release date has not yet been released by EA. But we can assume that it will be sometime during June end or July 1. The F1 22 game was released on July 1. There is a chance that it could be sooner as EA changed their profile photos on their F1 page on Twitter and Instagram quite early. So fans can expect a release by the first few weeks of June.

F1 23, will be available on PC, Playstation, and Xbox. It is still doubtful if the game will be released for PS4 as well or just PS5. EA play subscribers could get early access to the game. It is safe to say that the game will come to the Play List on EA Play, within a year of its release.
