On December 29, 2013, the life of F1 legend Michael Schumacher took a dramatic turn, which was a turning point in his spectacular career. Schumacher’s life was turned upside down in one of the most horrific incidents by mere recreational skiing. He suffered critical brain damage when his skull struck a rock. Since that unfortunate incident, the dynamics of the sport have changed entirely with his absence.
Despite being one of the greatest Formula 1 drivers to ever exist, he was a man like any other. From his interviews and media interactions, it can be summed up that Schumacher was a family-oriented man. He enjoyed the little mundane activities and spent a good amount of time with his children and wife. It makes one curious about what did the German driver do on a day-to-day basis.
Michael Schumacher revealed his interesting routine
In 2012, the seven-time champion was driving for the Mercedes Petronas F1 team. The British Grand Prix was about to commence that very year and Sports-locker.net conducted an interview with Schumacher where he talked about his professional life and gave little insights into his personal life.

When asked about his typical day at home on a weekend, Sunday in particular, Schumacher said, “It starts with breakfast with the family. In the early morning, I am in the gym, afterwards in the office catching up on my business, then in the afternoon mainly an endurance workout or a soccer game with friends or my local team. And in the evening maybe a barbeque.”
The German driver also shared his hobby of playing football on the side and how he has progressed in the sport in over a decade.
Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso paid tribute to the veteran
The new documentary “Being Michael Schumacher” featured F1 champions Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso professing their deep regard and affection for the iconic driver. The documentary explores Schumacher’s incredible career in detail, presenting an up-close look at his influence on the sport as well as other drivers.
Following the German’s retirement in 2012, Hamilton filled the role at Mercedes and reflected on their indirect connection in the sport. The Briton stated, “A full-out great racer. He won the race when Ayrton died. [He was just] winning everything!” in the film. Similarly, the documentary portrays Alonso’s understanding of Schumacher’s lingering effect on Formula 1 dynamics.
Alonso spoke in the documentary Being Michael Schumacher: “I lost more than I won against him. He is an incredible driver and it was an inspiration for all the drivers of my generation when we were in karting and lower categories to see Michael dominate Formula 1.”

According to Alonso, “I lost more against him than I won! He did change the way of approaching racing, physical preparation, determination, work ethic into the weekend with the engineers, a lot of things in the sport changed because of Michael – for the better.”
In light of this, the documentary presents a comprehensive look at the life and legacy of Michael Schumacher, encapsulating both his lasting worth from his fellow champions and his contributions to the sport.
