Is Sebastian Vettel returning to Formula 1?
When asked about a possible role within Formula 1 or the FIA, Sebastian Vettel said:
“We’ll see but I have some ideas, I’ve been to Monaco earlier this year. I had a very good meeting with [F1 president] Stefano [Domenicali]. Other than obviously the cars directly polluting, F1 has a huge responsibility because it’s a very big event. A lot of people attend, I think you had around 500,000 people in the British Grand Prix last weekend. So there’s a lot more to it than just the cars but obviously the cars, everybody sees them.”

“It’s important that it’s headed in the right direction. But I’m talking [with F1] and I have some ideas. Obviously, we’ll see what the future brings. Even though I want to be there for them. But I think sooner or later, I will probably figure it out and take on a new challenge.”
After his recent interview with Planet F1, he is yet to make a decision about his future. At the moment, it seems like he is enjoying g retirement with his family. He has not made many appearances after his retirement. One was during the Monaco Grand Prix and the other after the British Grand Prix to give encouragement to Daniel Ricciardo who was testing at the time.
What will Sebastian Vettel’s role be?
After the Monaco Grand Prix, it was reported that Stefano Domenicali wanted Sebastian Vettel to join Formula 1 as its Sustainability Manager. Meaning he would be directly involved in making the sport sustainable. This includes two of Vettel’s main interests, Formula 1 and saving the environment.
It has been rumored that Vettel could take over the role of Helmut Marko at Red Bull. Helmut Marko has been with the team for a very long time and was close friends with its owner, Dietrich Mateschitz. However, he is currently 80 years of age and should start thinking about whatever future he has left and how he wants to spend it.

Sebastian Vettel would be a good candidate for Red Bull’s advisor. He has driven and won with the team multiple times, he will be able to give valuable inputs to the drivers as well. Over the years, Sebastian Vettel has showcased immense knowledge about the technical aspects of Formula 1. Even the ones of which the drivers usually are unaware. He would be the perfect candidate to become Red Bull’s advisor.
Both of the mentioned roles are perfectly suited for him. Let us wait and see what role Sebastian Vettel will take in the near future.
