After James, a similar scandal occurred with the British Formula 1 driver Lewis Hamilton when he posted a Snapchat video of his young nephew wearing a blue and pink dress during a trip to Disneyland. The video was captioned with Hamilton expressing his sadness and stating, “I’m so sad right now. Look at my nephew.”
In the video, Hamilton and his nephew discussed how the child wanted a dress for Christmas. The video ended with the F1 star yelling, “Boys don’t wear princess dresses!” The video was later removed by the Briton.
While both James and Hamilton may have faced criticism for their choices, it is important to realize that, celebrities or not, everyone should have the liberty to express themselves. The notion of gender norms and expectations should not limit anyone’s self-expression.

However, the images were fabricated using Photoshop or Artificial Intelligence (AI), and they were edited to the point of no error. Despite this, some fans were convinced that the images were real due to their authenticity. LeBron James’ body and facial features are noticeably off in the images.

The Mercedes driver has been no stranger to controversies and is one of the most popular names that exist, he is constantly under scrutiny, and his every move is closely watched by the public. The incident occurred with the controversial video featuring his young nephew where Hamilton appeared to call out his nephew for not adhering to gender norms, which drew criticism from many people, including members of the LGBTQ community.
The backlash was harsh enough that the founder of an anti-bullying charity, Ditch the Label, Liam Hackett responded with a tweet “Disappointing to see somebody with such a huge platform use it to publicly shame and attempt to undermine a small child”.

After receiving backlash for his comments, the Briton removed the post and issued an apology, stating that he had not intended to offend anyone and that he recognized the harmful nature of his words and was in fact proud of the child to be able to express himself freely.
In an effort to make amends for his actions, Hamilton recently participated in a fashion shoot for GQ magazine. In collaboration with Tommy Hilfiger, the shoot featured him wearing a kilt, a traditional Scottish skirt. Through this shoot, he aimed to show his support for gender expression and inclusivity.
