SUMMARY
- AlphaTauri expected to move away from their 15+ year old home in Faenza to Milton Keynes closer to Red Bull's factory.
- AlphaTauri could be running a version of the RB19 in 2024.
A year after Red Bull Racing made its debut in Formula 1, Toro Rosso introduced themselves to the sport. They were formed as a junior team to Red Bull. They were meant to give Red Bull’s academy drivers some experience in F1 before getting promoted to the Red Bull senior team. After the 2019 season, Toro Rosso became AlphaTauri.
.There have been some rumors that the team will once again change their name for the 2024 season, but there has been no official confirmation. However, the Red Bull has decided to bring their junior team closer to their factory in Milton Keynes.
AlphaTauri’s cars will now be built right next to Red Bull’s
Since the beginning AlphaTauri has been based out fo Faenza in italy. However, now they are ready to move closer to Red Bull in Milton Keynes. This could give both the teams a lot of advantage going into the 2024 seaosn.
It has been reported that AlphaTauri will be runnign a version of the RB19 for the 2024 season. Since there is not much regulation change form after last year, Red Bull could help AlphaTauri take inspiration from the RB19. Since both the teams are owned by the same group, they can help each other out at a limited capacity.
Even though both the teams are owned by the same group, the FIA does have some rules about sharing information within the teams in F1. In order to create a even playing ground, the FIA has to make sure that each car is unique in its own way and no team gets an advantage by sharing ideas with other teams.

However, the rules does allow limited information to be shared about the previous year’s car. Which is why AlphaTauri will be taking inspiration from the RB19 and not the RB20. The RB20 will be hitting the track for Red bull in 2024.
If the team are able to get the car right, we could see AlphaTauri in the top 5 in every race. This could even lead to 3 Red Bull drivers on the podium. Daniel Ricciardo has been longing for podium. His last podium finish was when he won the 2021 Italian Grand Prix with McLaren. Since then, the fans have not seen a shooey on the podium. Is 2024 the year we will see the shooey again? Time will tell.
Rivals publicly slam unfair Red Bull-AlphaTauri partnership
Not all of the teams are in favor of the partnership between AlphaTauri and Red Bull. Zak Brown has stated that the partnership between the 2 F1 teams would not be fair to the other teams.
“We know we’ve outperformed the others in the development race, and we know we’ve closed the gap to Red Bull but what none of us know is: did Red Bull stop, and we just caught up, or were they still developing? Also, we have some big concerns over the alliance between AlphaTauri and Red Bull. I think that is something that needs to be addressed in the future.
🚨 | Zak Brown is “very concerned” about Red Bull and AlphaTauri’s partnership.
He believes Red Bull could benefit from sharing information.

“So, I still think the sport has a way to go to make sure that everyone is truly independent. [It could benefit Red Bull in] a lot of different ways. There is a reason why they are moving a lot of their people from Italy. As Helmut [Marko, Red Bull motorsport advisor] has said, they are going to do absolutely everything they can to benefit from having two teams.
“I get that because that’s what the rules say. But I think we need to look at the governance of the sport around technical alliances.”
All F1 teams will do anything they can to take advantage of the rules and regulations. It is teh job of the FIA to make sure that the playing grounds are even for all teams. Zak Brown believes that Red Bull and AlphaTauri should not be able to benefit too much from having the same owner.
