Charles Leclerc has been at Ferrari since the very start. The Monegasque has mentioned his wish to become the next Champion with his Ferrari team. However, his wish to win a title now rests on the palm of Adrian Newey. The Red Bull engineer is known for his genius when it comes to making the craziest inventions on the Formula 1 car that only places them far ahead of everyone. With that being said, there were chances he could have worked with Ferrari.
Ferrari has seen some struggles with their car. For a long time, if it’s not the strategy that’s ruining the driver’s race, it definitely is the car. However, when Adrian Newey was asked if he regretted not working with Ferrari, he said, “Emotionally, I guess to a point — yes. But just as, for instance, working with Fernando and Lewis would have been fabulous, it never happened. It’s just circumstance sometimes, that’s the way it is.”

Ferrari was only moments away from signing Adrian Newey and winning a world championship title. Leclerc could clinch his title and make true his long-time wish linked to Jules Bianchi.
However, the engineer stuck with Red Bull. Newey also mentioned wanting to work with Sir Lewis Hamilton and his brilliance to cope seven world titles. As for Ferrari, the missed opportunity seems to be regretted by both sides.
Charles Leclerc excited for new and faster 2024 Ferrari car
Ferrari came out during the 2023 season to let fans know there would be no further updates to their car. The team made it clear that the issues with the car would need more time to fix than just a few updates.
This meant that the car would only get a few upgrades that were preplanned. However, they seem to have taken a similar path as Mercedes. They followed it up by announcing the works on their 2024 car have begun.
Charles Leclerc gave everyone a few insights on the car. The driver talked a little about their 2024 car and how it’s going to be much different than their 2023 challenger.
He told Sky Sports, “We learned plenty during Monza, especially about our weaknesses, Monza we understood more things which are good for this year even though it will be a small step in the right direction but mostly for designing next year’s car which is positive.”

Leclerc has been positive about the new changes. The driver has stayed positive that the car will be much more efficient and will be after learning from this season’s mistakes. Ferrari has expressed their wish to challenge the title contender next year and so has Charles. Although the team still has this season to get through first.
