SUMMARY
- McLaren removes profile picture and archives all of its posts on Instagram
- The Woking outfit gives a refreshing start to their social media journey with a simple but effective video
Not long ago, Sauber spent significant time under the spotlight following its rather bizarre team name confusion. The Swiss outfit unveiled a rather unconventional team name, leading to hellish social media mockery. Therefore, quite unsurprisingly, Sauber buried the past and decided to call itself the Stake F1 Team. And now, just as the steam began to subside, McLaren has come up with something far more intriguing.
The legendary motorsport outfit remains one of the fewest teams yet to reveal the launch date of their 2024 challenger. And just when the world began anticipating an announcement, McLaren has chosen to spice things up by making massive changes to their social media handle. In simple words, McLaren’s profile picture no longer features its classic Papaya logo. Instead, it is just plain black.

But, that is barely the tip of the iceberg! Soon after, McLaren’s Instagram posts began disappearing. By the looks of it, McLaren’s social media admin may have archived all of their posts from the past, subsequently, making the page look like a clean slate. Of course, this led to several conspiracy theories, with several anticipating a potential change in branding.
But, before the buzz could get out of hand, McLaren unveiled an insanely dramatic video, portraying their rollercoaster 2023 journey, and their revamped goals for 2024. And then, there were the three words that quite clearly demonstrated McLaren’s next target; Whatever It Takes.
What does the latest McLaren F1 post mean?
It could be anything! But, by the looks of it, McLaren is pretty much teasing their 2024 F1 challenger. Of course, one might wonder why a team would go to such an extent to make a mere announcement. Well, this is clearly a sign of what’s to come from the Woking outfit that last won the constructors’ championship in 1998.

The last time McLaren tasted a bit of success was back in 2008 when Lewis Hamilton fought his way to his first-ever world championship title in Formula 1. But, since then, McLaren has been nothing but subject to persistent trolling, thanks to their horrendous missteps in the development race. This further tarnished their hard-earned reputation in the sport.
But, it looks like the entire outfit has grown tired of such insults and is ready to fight for the big trophies. Hence, could this mysterious social media tweak be the start of something insanely special for McLaren? Will Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri find enough pace to dethrone Max Verstappen in the upcoming 2024 F1 campaign? Only time will tell.
