Charles Leclerc has been a great investment for Ferrari. The driver has brought the team to the front even after following through their mishaps. From being the greatest team in F1 to having the worst strategies, the team has a lot to work on. However, Leclerc has become more and more desperate to beat Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. The Monegasque has shown promise however, he has fallen back after pushing to the limits. This has made his performance more inconsistent than promising.
Fred Vasseur was the very first to point out the mistakes that Leclerc makes that make more desperate than consistent. However, now Peter Windsor has come out to say the same. The Pundit believes that Leclerc is a little too desperate rather than hungry. He said in a recent YouTube live stream, “Because Leclerc’s yardstick is racing with Max and to some extent, you know, Lewis at the front of a Grand Prix, when he’s not in that situation, he doesn’t really care that much about anything other than just trying to get back into the situation.”
Windsor made it clear that the driver was very focused. He also added that he is a Leclerc fan and therefore has nothing against him. The ex-Williams manager spoke on how Leclerc could be better if he showed some level-headedness. The driver is brilliant and has brought the Ferrari to the top on multiple occasions. However, he has been losing his patience to beat Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen which is a tough job to perform.
Charles Leclerc denies making too many mistakes in 2023
Charles Leclerc has heard many experts mention his carelessness and lack of patience. The Monegasque has had everyone point out him making too many mistakes this season. From being called desperate to irresponsible, he has heard it all. However, he does not agree to it at all. Although the driver has been aggressive this season, he has won more podiums compared to his teammate. Additionally, he has brought the car to great results even after falling victim to the team’s poor strategy.
When talking to the media at Monte Carlo, Charles Leclerc denied making too many mistakes. As quoted by Scuderia Fans.com, he said, “To be honest, I don’t think so. Risk is part of my job. I’m a driver. I have to go for the limit. Unfortunately, I’m very honest with myself too and I’m not afraid to talk about my mistakes, to verbalize them. This probably causes me a bit of harm because when I look at my mistakes, they are not so terrible.” He believes it is his job to take risks that would be advantageous for the team.

Leclerc has agreed to make slight mistakes however, he added it has brought the team good results. Therefore, he believes they are risks more than mistakes. The driver continues to strive for a battle with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton. The Monegasque has left Hamilton in dust too after finishing in front of him quite a few times. Nonetheless, he believes his battle for a championship title is not done yet.
