Helmut Marko comes under fire once again as he is asked about the xenophobic statement he made towards Sergio Perez. However, this time, he has chosen to avoid all questions regarding his comments.
“If there are any questions, I won’t answer them. I will only talk about sporting matters.” Helmut Marko said in his latest comments.
There has still been no official statement from Red Bull regarding the matter. Earlier a lot of fans demanded that Red Bull fire Helmut the same way they did Juri Vips. However, it seems as though the Austrian will continue to be a member of the team for the foreseeable future.
A few days earlier, he gave a justification or clarification for the racist and xenophobic statement he made. “It wasn’t meant that way. I meant a Mexican has a different mentality than a German or a Dutchman. But who knows, maybe that’s controlled.”
Helmut Marko has refused to make any further statements about his Perez comments:

It seems as though every word that comes out of his mouth at this moment can be viewed as racist. Even that was viewed as scripted and fans felt that he didn’t really mean it. This is probably the reason why he has chosen not to say anything regarding the matter. He even issued an apology after his comments.
With Helmut Marko not saying anything regarding the matter, they are hoping to wait for the situation to die down. Unfortunately, the fans don’t seem to want to let this go anytime soon. This may cause some issues for Helmut Marko during the Mexican GP later this year.

It is important that steps are taken to prevent this and that apologies are made when necessary. We invite everyone to build a more respectful and united community in Formula 1, promoting healthy competition both on and off the track.”

The ultimate reply from Sergio Perez would be if he can beat Max Verstappen on pure pace to win the Mexican Grand Prix. There are 4 races between now and the Mexican Grand Prix. This should give Checo enough time to get back his mojo. The next race is being held at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. This track gives Perez the best chance to get his confidence back with the RB19.
He has been known to be the King of the Streets. He also won the 2022 Singapore Grand Prix with Red Bull. Will he be able to do the same this year? Post your answers in the comment section below.
