The Hungarian Grand Prix came to an end with a not-so-surprising finish. Max Verstappen who failed to perform at the practice and qualifications, won the race. Earlier, Verstappen had been slower than Lewis Hamilton at the qualifications when the Brit took his 104th podium. But Verstappen did not hesitate to take back his throne from the seven-time World Champion.
On the other hand, Lando Norris won his second podium of the season and his 8th podium in his career. Right behind Lando was Sergio Perez who managed to make it to the podium again.
During their celebrations on the podium, Lando went on to do his special champagne-opening technique which involves him hitting the bottle on the ground hard to make it spray. Although when he went on to do that, Max Verstappen’s trophy that was right on the podium fell down.

The handmade trophy broke into tiny pieces with the half end of it detaching from the trophy. Lando, however, went on to spray champagne on the drivers and enjoy his podium win. Meanwhile, Max Verstappen noticed his trophy fallen on the ground as the drivers exchanged looks.
Both were shocked but seemed to have laughed it off later. Red Bull also took to Twitter to show off their new broken trophy while McLaren posted a hilarious “We’re so sorry” reply to the post.
Lando Norris breaks the $44,000 trophy during the Hungarian GP
The Hungarian Grand Prix trophy that cost over $44,000 was broken during driver celebrations. The trophy takes about 6 months to make and is a completely handmade work of art. However, the 2023 trophy was pink in color in order to promote the Barbie movie that has recently been released.
Soon after the celebrations, Red Bull and McLaren had some funny interactions with each other on social media. Red Bull also tagged Lando Norris in an Instagram story of them trying to glue the trophy back. After this hilarious chain of events, Lando was asked about Verstappen’s trophy to which he replied “It’s his problem. Not mine.” leaving the Dutchman laughing at his response.

Max Verstappen had also gotten onto the bandwagon, as he joked about the broken trophy with Lando. They were being interviewed right next to each other when Max turned to Lando to ask if Lando said that the Dutchman was responsible for the trophy breaking. Max then jokingly asked McLaren’s team principal, Zak Brown to pay him for the damages of the trophy.

While the two drivers had laughed the situation off, people could not get enough of their banter. With the Hungarian Grand Prix ending, Lando and Max Verstappen shared a close bond as they celebrated their podiums together.
