Max Verstappen has made us witness his incredible domination. He has had a hold on the people as he wins Championships and races consecutively. After his intense race win at Abu Dhabi in 2021, making him a World Champion, beating Lewis Hamilton, he started his reign in the world of Formula 1.
Verstappen secured his second world championship title after he had won 15 of the 22 races in 2022. With that, he had broken the records of Michael Schumacher and Sebastian Vettel. As he became the racer with the most wins in one season. He had won 15 races beating Schumacher and Vettel’s 13 races in one season streak.
This season, Max Verstappen has proven himself yet again as he wins his fifth consecutive at the Austrian Grand Prix. He has won a total of 7 races out of the 9 races this season. He had even won his title by being 81 points ahead of 2nd place, Sergio Perez. While Lewis Hamilton has been seen to struggle quite a little this season.
Lewis Hamilton falls far behind Max Verstappen
Verstappen may have broken yet another record and Lewis Hamilton has not even made it on the list. Max Verstappen has become the driver who has the highest percentage of potential points in a season after only 9 rounds. He has a total of seven wins so far into the season.
And eight wins if his pole position at the sprint in Austria is taken into consideration. He currently stands at 91.6% of points which makes him the driver with the highest potential points.
No driver in history has ever scored a higher percentage of potential points* after nine rounds than Max Verstappen in 2023.

Behind him are Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel with 90.6%. And then Michael Schumacher held the record of 89.6 and 88.3 in 2002 and 2004 respectively. But the one person who is not on the list is Lewis Hamilton. Hamilton has 86.6 points ever since he started his career which is a high margin behind Max Verstappen.
As the races continue, it only seems to have gotten tougher for Lewis Hamilton as the Red Bull driver leads sprint races and championship races. And as the season continues it has become a lot more difficult to believe that Hamilton could beat Verstappen to win his eighth World title. There seems to be a big possibility that Max Verstappen might after all bring home his third World title.
With Lewis Hamilton nowhere even on the list and Max Verstappen leading the board with Alonso still fighting for his Championship, things seem uncertain. Lewis Hamilton had achieved his seven wins by the age of 36. But with Max Verstappen coming in strong there is no limit to how many wins he may have made by the age of 36.
