Ever come across the phrase ‘nowhere to go but up’? The rather austere five-worded quote is nothing but an absolute gem for demoralized and demotivated people. However, quite unfortunately, Lance Stroll is well past that. Just when the entire world believed Stroll had finally hit rock bottom, the Canadian dug another vastly deeper hole into the earth, thanks to his latest qualifying outing in Qatar.
The Aston Martin driver was visibly frustrated with his Q1 exit at the Qatar Grand Prix and ended up ‘physically assaulting’ his own personal trainer on his way back to the paddock. And of course, it was flashed across the world on live TV. At this point, one can’t help but feel sorry for Stroll, a driver who has tried his level best to escape his father’s shadows only to fall back right into it.
Fernando Alonso was 1.1 seconds quicker than Lance Stroll…

Here’s what really happened at the Lusail F1 circuit earlier on Friday. After a series of poor results, Aston Martin, or should we say, Fernando Alonso, was finally looking at his best touch, with the Spaniard constantly chipping in purple sectors throughout the practice session. Meanwhile, on the other side of the garage stood Stroll, staring at yet another hopeless weekend of imminent struggles.
Regardless, during the qualifying session, the Canadian used his absolute might to get his car somewhere near the two-time world champion’s lap times, but, in vain. What’s worse, while Alonso completed his Q1 in P3, Stroll secured an embarrassing P17. But, if anything, it only turned out to be the tip of the iceberg for Stroll.
Take a look at the incident that is causing immense hate for Lance Stroll
Stroll made a painful cooldown lap into the garage, hopped out of the car, and attempted to walk out the back. But, by the looks of it, his personal trainer was demanding that he get his weight checked, complying with the FIA protocols. Stroll was in no mood to follow such routines and wanted to get away from his team, only for his trainer to hold him back with his hand.
In a normal work place and this is a sackable move.
Stroll is 24 years old, he’s not a kid. He knows better. When you lay hands on staff members in anger then it should be game over. #F1 #QatarGP pic.twitter.com/EQQ9yXbSzT

Initially, Stroll brushed past his trainer, but, the latter’s second attempt somehow triggered the Aston Martin driver. Hence, Stroll immediately shoved the poor trainer onto the wall before disappearing from the cameras. Not often have people seen an angry version of Stroll, but, the 24-year-old is certainly feeling the heat now.
Hence, can he bounce back tomorrow and hopefully re-kindle his lost faith in Formula 1? Let’s see what the future holds.
