There is no doubt that Michael Schumacher is one of the most successful Formula 1 drivers. By the time he started racing for Ferrari in the early 2000s, his name had become synonymous with the sport overall and managed to attack the crowd who would tune in either to watch him reach the chequered flag before anybody else or to watch him bite the dust.
Considering his modest background, Schumacher’s foundation was constructed on a strong sense of community, tireless work, and family values. With 91 race wins, the German holds seven world championship wins which have been matched only by Lewis Hamilton but not broken to date. However, to everyone’s surprise, Michael took a brief break from racing in 2007.
Schumacher’s wish remains a dream
Years ago during a candid interview with Biranit Goren, Schumacher discussed his career, celebrity status, wealth, coworkers, competition, Ferrari’s supremacy, and his decision to withdraw from racing. Other than that, he had a lot on his shoulders, yet he took every obstacle head-on. He started off by talking about his less glamorous childhood when he would collect debris from fancy karts to make one of his own.

As he went on, Michael shared the downsides of fame and being one of the greatest F1 drivers to ever exist. He said, “I am in a very good position because I can choose what I want to do so there’s no need to complain. And, there will come a time when I will be less known and recognized, and then I think I will be able to walk freely again. Not now, not in the next five years, but after that sometime, I guess.”
Even after returning to the grid, his career came to an abrupt end due to a fatal accident.
A close friend of Michael Schumacher drops big update
Michael Schumacher experienced a moment that would change his life in December 2013, while skiing in the French Alps with his 14-year-old son Mick. He landed on a rock and suffered a serious injury to his head. Since then, there have been few updates on the famed Formula 1 driver’s recovery as his family has tightly guarded his private life, away from the media.

But a while ago, F1 journalist and a friend of the German racer, Roger Benoit provided some light on the situation and shared an exclusive report on Schumacher’s health. According to Benoit, “There is only one answer to this question and that is what his son Mick gave in one of his rare interviews in 2022: ‘I would give anything to talk to dad‘, This sentence says everything about how his father has been doing for over 3,500 days. A case without hope.”
Once a racing champion, Michael Schumacher’s life has taken a different course, marked by resilience with guarded privacy which adds some mystery to his recovery story.
