The Jeddah Superdome in Saudi Arabia witnessed a turbulent series of events when The Bloodline imploded during Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa’s Undisputed Tag Team Title match at Night of Champions. Dissent has been brewing over the past few weeks within the heel stable as The Usos have been mistreated by Reigns since their tag team title loss at WrestleMania.
Things took a turn for the worse when Jimmy Uso superkicked Roman Reigns following a confrontation between the twins and The Tribal Chief. Reigns had asked Jimmy and Jey to stay out of the May 27 event, but they did not listen. This led to them mistakenly superkicking Solo Sikoa before turning on Reigns. The sequence of events and the way it went down have fans raving about the occasion.
Look at the little things, the nuances, this is master storytelling:
1) Jimmy Uso getting that trauma and anger out by shouting after superkicking Roman Reigns
2) Jey Uso shouting “Joe.. Joe” & not Roman
3) In the end Jimmy is smiling but… pic.twitter.com/GCw3mBoExr

Despite the critical acclaim, many eagle-eyed fans may have missed what Jimmy Uso said to Roman Reigns before delivering the superkick. The nuances of the action have quite rightfully been dubbed “cinema” by the internet wrestling community. After hitting the first superkick, Jey asks Jimmy what he is doing, as the latter looks on in anguish. However, he quickly snaps out of it, saying, “I’m doing what you should have done a long time ago,” before hitting a second superkick.
Jimmy was referring to their feud in 2020 when Roman Reigns assaulted Jimmy Uso to get Jey Uso to side with him. Jey also fell in line despite walking out when The Bloodline assaulted Sami Zayn at Royal Rumble 2022. Jimmy Uso has possibly realized that they are nothing but pawns to The Tribal Chief, and it is their rebellion that can save them.
Roman Reigns’ 1000th day as Universal Champion did not go according to plan
Roman Reigns has been nothing but a dominant force since his Universal Championship win at Payback 2020. The Tribal Chief is on a dominant run and has not been pinned in the last three-plus years. Reigns celebrated 1000 days as the Universal Champion on May 27. At Night of Champions, he intended to defeat Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens to become the tag champions and also dedicated the match to The Wild Samoans, Afa, and Sika.

However, the former Honorary Uce and KO reigned supreme over Reigns and Sikoa, thanks to the antics of Jimmy Uso. The Usos will be aware of the wrath of their Tribal Chief. Meanwhile, Reigns will look to overcome the disappointment of losing a title opportunity. He is also supposed to celebrate the landmark event of reaching 1000 days as Universal Champion on June 2 on SmackDown. It remains to be seen how things will pan out.
