While Israel Adesanya is ruling the UFC middleweight division the former middleweight champion Luke Rockhold shared what he feels might take to beat the current champion to hand him his first defeat in the division.
Coolhand was giving an interview/podcast with submission radio where he discussed a lot of topics regarding his future in UFC. However, a topic that stood out in the interview was when the former UFC champion was asked how someone can beat Israel.
The correspondent asked if Rockhold thinks that people need to look at different areas to beat him or if it’s a situation similar to where someone has to bring an all-around game plan against him.
Answering the question Luke commented:
“He has been a champion for as long as he has there is a reason. There is not a direct avenue to beat him. You have to have every aspect of the game and you have to be able to press and press further then anyone will go in that space.”
Rockhold also expressed that he is fond of the champion and considering his talent there isn’t any specific area where Israel’s opponents can look to step up. According to him, having every aspect of the game can be effective. However, he believes that if he fights the Last Stylebender things can go differently on the ground.
“Obviously on the ground with me it’s different but you can’t just force the issue there. You have to let it come and get back to the next..there are other avenues inside of him” Luke added.
