UFC has a new heavyweight king after UFC 260 and it’s the scariest heavyweight in the history of MMA. Francis Ngannou dethroned Stipe Miocic to win the prestigious UFC heavyweight title.
Ngannou’s journey to the title shot has not been easy as he had to fight some of the toughest heavyweights in UFC. However, he has finally realized his goal to become a UFC champion. But, Francis Ngannou does not intend to stop. He wants to jump over to boxing and fight arguably the best heavyweight boxer in the world right now, Tyson Fury.
Though it might seem impossible for some fans both Ngannou and Fury are certainly showing interest in his super fight. Earlier, the WBC champion, Tyson Fury sent a message to the UFC heavyweight champion and stated that he is open to fighting Ngannou in a boxing ring after his long-anticipated fight against Anthony Joshua. Fury tweeted:
“@Mike Tyson, after I smash Anthony Joshua, I’ll roast that guy also. Francis Ngannou easy work”
It did not take Francis Ngannou to respond to Fury as he replied with the below tweet:
If this guy did this to you, what do you think I would do? 🤔 https://t.co/8LKhcnJY5O pic.twitter.com/ceqgnrUaTJ

Francis Ngannou has been very vocal about making a boxing debut and fight the elite heavyweights. In the recent podcast with Mike Tyson, Ngannou opened up about a potential career in boxing and said:
“Absolutely. I’m open to that. Remember boxing was my primary dream and I still have the fire, the dream inside me and I believe at some point I’m gonna make a step.”

Francis Ngannou vs Tyson Fury can be one of the biggest spectacles in combat sports history
And it’s no secret that Fury is open to fight the best heavyweights from UFC. Fury was even considering getting into the octagon and fight Stipe Miocic under the MMA rules. And if the UFC heavyweight champion walks into the boxing ring to fight there is no way The Gypsy King will back down from such an opportunity.
The only time an elite MMA champion has crossed over to fight an elite boxer was the time when Conor McGregor fought Floyd Mayweather. McGregor was not able to secure a victory over Mayweather but he had his moments against him in the ring. And that’s enough for Ngannou to secure a win over any boxer in the world, a few seconds.
Francis Ngannou has the greatest equalizer in MMA which is his scary knock-out power. But, dealing with scary knockout power is not alien to Tyson Fury. After all, he ridiculed the greatest knockout artist of this generation, Deontay Wilder. It will be power vs skills yet again inside the boxing ring and that’s why this fight seems so appealing to the fans.
