One of the best golfers in history, Tiger Woods, finds himself in a fresh batch of controversy. He has been one of the most-talked-about players in the sport for a long time and not just because of his sporting achievements. From his extra-marital affairs to his most recent tampon controversy, fans just can not stop discussing his name.
According to multiple reports online, Tiger‘s ex-girlfriend, Erica Herman, is suing Jupiter Island Irrevocable Home Trust for a massive sum of $30 million. The trust reportedly owns Tiger Woods’ Florida property which has come under dispute in this particular case. Apparently, Erica was tricked into moving out of the property in 2022.

But, once the couple broke up later that year, she was reportedly denied entry into the mansion. According to a report from PEOPLE, Erica alleges that her personal belongings were taken out of the house and her $40,000 in cash was also, “misappropriated.” It is common for partners to move out after breaking up, so why is Erica suing in this case?
Apparently, she had an “oral agreement” with the Jupiter Trust, which would have allowed her to stay on the property for five more years. However, as per the filings, that was not the case.
While the Trust argues that Erica should settle the matter via arbitration with her ex-partner Tiger Woods, Erica argues that the motion is against the Trust itself and not Woods. Hence, the matter should be resolved publicly. Under Florida Residential Landlord Tenant Act, Erica Herman is suing for injunctive relief, monetary damages, and fees of her attorneys.
Erica Herman wants release from NDA signed with Tiger Woods in 2017
While the previously-mentioned lawsuit was filed in October 2022, there have been some shocking recent developments. In the filings, Erica claims that she wants to be relieved of the NDA she signed in 2017. As per the documents, the couple signed the non-disclosure agreements at the start of their relationship almost 6 years ago.
But in 2022, the “Speak Out Act” came into effect, which renders NDAs void when it comes to sexual assault and harassment. Hence, Erica wants to be relieved from the NDA agreements as her legal representatives hinted that sexual harassment was involved in the case. So it will be interesting to see which way the case develops in the coming days.
Tiger Woods is currently not participating in any major competition. However, the 47-year-old did mention that he wants to return in the second half of the year. But, will all the recent legal developments prove to be another setback for the 15-time major champion? Only time will tell.
