GSP Calls Khabib Nurmagomedov the Scariest Fighter in UFC History- “He Is Breaking You Mentally”

Khabib Nurmagomedov

Not so long ago, GSP vs Khabib Nurmagomedov was one of the most anticipated super fights in MMA. However, it’s highly unlikely that the fans will ever see this fight.

Both Khabib Nurmagomedov and Georges St-Pierre are retired and have no intentions to come back for one more fight. However, there is still a lot of respect among these two legends.

GSP appeared on a recent podcast of Joe Rogan and talked about his potential fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov. GSP claimed that Khabib’s style of fighting is the scariest for him. GSP explained:

“To me, Khabib is one of the scariest dudes. Because he is beating you down, he is not only beating you down he is breaking you mentally. And for me, it’s worst than anything. For me, he is the scariest one pound for pound.”

Khabib Nurmagomedov

Khabib Nurmagomedov is undoubtedly the most dominant fighter in UFC history. He has fought some of the best lightweights of this generation and has dominated every one of them. So it’s not too hard to believe that Khabib somehow intimidates GSP as well.

But, that does not mean GSP would not have fought Khabib a couple of years before. GSP is still one of the greatest to ever do it and he certainly has a great chance to beat Khabib in the octagon. But he believes his best days are behind him.

Besides that, he also understands the reason for which Khabib Nurmagomedov announced retirement from MMA. GSP supports Khabib’s decision as he says:

“And I understand why. because fighting takes a lot out of you and takes a lot out of the people who love you. it’s not like you lose a basketball, you lose a fight it can have huge repercussions. Your health, your well-being, your income, your family, and everything.”

A fight between two of the greatest fighters to ever compete in the octagon is certainly intriguing for every MMA fan. Khabib’s elite grappling and pressure vs Georges St-Pierre’s striking and wrestling is a contest that has the potential to break UFC records. Unfortunately, this matchup will always remain a fantasy fight for years to come and fans will not see this fight come to fruition.
