The Phoenix Suns’ veteran Point guard Chris Paul suffered a shoulder injury in Game 1 of the playoffs against the LA Lakers. The injury occurred early in the second quarter with 9:26 remaining. Lebron James came flying in for the offensive board and made contact with Paul’s extended right hand. Chris held onto his right shoulder and went down immediately. Players from both teams rushed to him out of concern. Chris however appeared to be fine and continued playing but only scored 7 points on 3 of 8 shooting from the field.
Despite Paul being the only veteran with playoff experience and leader in the young phoenix Suns. Devin Booker and Deandre Ayton carried the Suns to a commanding 99-90 victory over Lebron’s lakers. “The Point God” still had the expected effect On the suns and dished out 8 assists a steal and a block.
Phoenix Suns in good hands despite the absence of Chris Paul
Chris Paul is a generational talent and a potential Hall of Famer. This is because of his court vision, basketball IQ, and passing abilities. The majority of the basketball world expects the Lakers to defeat the Suns in 5 games despite this loss. However one would be foolish to scoff over the suns completely as they have Home court advantage and all the pressure is on the defending champions to tie the series and take it back to Los angles.
Despite having such a high level of performance, Cp3 has suffered injuries during crucial history-changing moments in the playoffs. , especially during his time with the Rockets besides James Harden. when they had a 3-2 lead over the Golden State dynasty, Chris suffered a Hamstring injury and was forced to sit out games 6 and 7 which the warriors won. Chris’s history with injury falls further back to 2016. He broke his right hand in Game 4 of the first-round matchup against the Portland Trail Blazers.
We wish Cp3 a speedy recovery so that he can continue to perform at a high level. Make the series a challenge for the other side.
