It’s no secret that the fighter pay naturally sees a jump whenever someone is fighting Conor McGregor. The former dual champion has proved to be a needle mover throughout his UFC career. So when the Notorious made his lightweight return against the former interim champion Dustin Poirier, it was evident that both the fighters were coming in the back off a huge pay-day.

Earlier, Dustin Poirier had targeted the UFC for not getting paid what he believes he is worth, calling out the promotion to ensure that he gets paid well if they want him to compete inside the cage. Needless to say, when the time came and the fight with McGregor was announced, Poirier revealed to the entire world that this time around he was getting #PaidinFull. So how much did the former interim lightweight champion make for his epic showdown against the Notorious Conor McGregor?

Dustin Poirier takes home a whopping $750,000 as show money for UFC 257

In what was the biggest purse of his career, the Diamond took home $750,000 as show money for the fight against former featherweight and lightweight champion Conor McGregor at UFC 257. The show money doesn’t include a sponsorship bonus. Needless to say, the $750,000 was exclusive of his cut from the PPV revenue.

UFFC 257, which did a massive business of 1.6 million PPV buys remains the biggest PPV event of 2021. With the star power of Conor McGregor and the equally great fan-following of Dustin Poirier added with a spectacular main-card that complimented the main event, UFC 247 proved to be a highly successful event for the promotion. 

How much did Conor McGregor make for his fight against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257?

Without a doubt, Conor McGregor is the highest paying mixed martial artist in the history of the sport. The former dual champion continues to break records, and despite being in the company for almost a decade now, still rules as the biggest star in the company. It won’t be wrong to say that he is second to none, and faces no real challenge as the face of mixed martial arts, particularly after the retirement of former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.

Conor McGregor made a whopping $3 million as show money for his UFC appearance against Dustin Poirier at UFC 257. The salary obviously did not involve the sponsorship bonus or the PPV cut which if added could catapult McGregor’s earnings from the rematch to excess of more than $10 million without a doubt.
