Nick Diaz makes his much anticipated UFC return in a featured fight on UFC 266. And he takes on the former welterweight champion, Robbie Lawler in an exciting five round rematch, a rematch that fans waited 17 years for.
There were a lot of speculations for Nick Diaz’s return to UFC for the last few years. The Stockton’s favorite teased his return on numerous occasions, however, UFC never even came close to booking a fight for Diaz.
Fortunately, for the fans, Diaz has finally decided to test his skillsets yet again inside the UFC octagon. And he certainly looks ready for the task ahead of him.
The fans are already hyped to watch this iconic matchup and UFC just dropped a spine-chilling promo to make things even better.
The fans can expect a old-school brawl between Nick Diaz and Robbie Lawler in the rematch as Diaz states in the promo:
“I stand up for what I believe in where I have come from. I am not here to back down. I got to keep it real, fight a hard fight.”
The first fight between the two ended in a knock-out victory in favor of Nick Diaz. Though it was a good back and forth between Diaz and Lawler, it was the Ruthless one who came up short in that fight. However, Robbie Lawler is not too concerned about how the first fight went as he stated:
“I am not worried about that last fight. I am coming out to show who I am today not who I was.”

Nick Diaz vs Robbie Lawler rematch might have a different outcome
Though the first fight ended in favor of Nick Diaz fans might see a completely different outcome in the rematch. Robbie Lawler has not been winning a lot of fights since he has lost his welterweight title to Tyron Woodley.
But, he has remained active and has been competing against the top welterweights such as Colby Covington, Neil Magny, and many. On the other hand, Nick Diaz has been inactive for years now. And though he is in good shape the ring rust might be a huge factor in his next fight at UFC 266.
Nevertheless, the fans should expect an entertaining build-up and fight from one of the pioneers of MMA, Nick Diaz.
