Karolina Pliskova faces a shock exit after being defeated by Katie Boulter on the Centre Court.
It is surely a shock for the former Wimbledon finalist Karolina Pliskova to be out of the Wimbledon this early. Katie Boulter surely electrified the crowd and probably won the biggest match of her career by defeating last year’s runner-up Karolina Pliskova.
It was Katie Boulter‘s moment as the Englishwoman from Leichester reached the third round of the Wimbledon for the first time. Katie has now defeated Karolina for the second time this week after she beat her earlier in the Eastbourne International tournament.
The crowd were enthralled by watching Katie win against Karolina, especially as she fought back after losing the first set in order to topple the sixth seed in the tournament with a 3-6, 7-6 and 6-4.
Katie Boulter beats Karolina Pliskova for the 2nd consecutive week, this time at #Wimbledon.
3-6, 7-6(4), 6-4 over the 2021 runner up to reach the 3rd round.

Katie would surely be confident enough to win the fixture, especially after her winning against Karolina Pliskova earlier during Eastbourne.
Karolina Pliskova shocked by Katie Boulter
Katie Boulter started out early after breaking Karolina early in the game, however, Pliskova made an initial comeback after breaking twice against the Briton in a row. Pliskova clearly found her range and momentum and she got two aces from her ninth game which saw her close out the first set.
Karolina was trying to shift her gears quickly, however, Boulter put up her resistance quickly. Pliskova might have had the superior skillset several times in the course of the match, however, Boulter’s tenacity is what made her win this contest.
Five games consecutively were mostly topsy turvy since one player could not seem to establish their foothold and domination. Pliskova gifted a point to Katie thanks to her double fault which seemed to have been a result of the pressure put on by Katie.
The set went on to tie break and Boulter eventually raced towards the win in that particular set. The game-changing moment of the match came in the ninth game as Boulter forced two break points from the play. Eventually, she seized the moment and went on to win the match.
