“I Don’t Understand” – Joe Rogan Upset With Herb Dean After Bizarre Stoppage During Kris Moutinho vs Sean O’Malley

Joe Rogan on Kris Moutinho

In what was an absolute war at UFC 257 between Sean O’Malley and UFC debutant Kris Moutinho, UFC commentator Joe Rogan did not look too impressed after referee Herb Dean stopped the fight in the closing moments of the third round. Joe Rogan looked visibly upset at the stoppage and questioned the referee Herb Dean, who is regarded as one of the best in business.

"Kris is a tough mother f***er!"

“I don’t understand that,”  Rogan could be heard saying from the commentator’s table. However, Rogan was quick to reiterate his statement, considering the amount of damage that Mounitnho took for as long as the fight lasted. Sean O’Malley once again looked at his vintage best, earning the record for the most number of significant strikes in Round 1 in the bantamweight division, and registering the highest significant striking accuracy.

Soon after the win, O’Malley called out former bantamweight champion Cody Garbrandt and UFC bantamweight champion Petr Yan for a scrap inside the Octagon.

Needless to say, it was a Fight of the Night affair, and Kris Moutinho deserves all credit and appreciation for his decision to first step up to fight a someone as dangerous as Sean O’Malley and then to bring a fight the way he did to open the UFC 264 main card.

What’s next for Suga Sean O’Malley?

Seann O’Malley continues to impress after suffering a setback in his TKO loss against Marlon Veran last year. Since then, O’Malley has registered a vicious stoppage win over Thomas Almeida and continues the same momentum going into UFC 264 with another vintage performance inside the Octagon.

Mannnn. When I asked Sean O'Malley earlier this week if there was anything dangerous about Kris Moutinho, he said the guy is just really, really tough. Doesn't go away. It appears he did his homework … Moutinho is tough as hell.

It will be interesting to see what’s next for Sean O’Malley who is yet to face a top-15 opponent. However, it’s for the lack of other fighters not stepping up to fight O’Malley who has looked absolutely incredible in his short UFC career. Only time will tell what lies ahead for the bantamweight star, but we can expect him to make a quick turnaround.
